Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Rhodes Old Town, and honestly? Most of them try too hard to be something they’re not. But this little studio on Ethnarhou Makariou – well, it actually gets it right. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone who understands travelers designed this space. Not a corporate committee, but someone who’s actually lived out of a suitcase.
The location is what really sold me though. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Mandraki Harbor (you know, where the famous deer statues are), but you’re tucked away enough that you don’t get the cruise ship crowds trampling past your window at 7 AM. I mean, Rhodes Town can get pretty intense during peak season – those narrow medieval streets weren’t exactly built for modern tourism levels. But somehow this spot manages to put you right in the heart of everything while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. The building itself sits on one of those quiet residential streets where you’ll see locals hanging laundry and chatting with neighbors, which honestly makes the whole experience feel more authentic.
What surprised me most was the attention to detail inside. The studio’s compact, sure, but it’s that smart kind of small where everything has a purpose. The kitchenette actually works (I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple dinner one night), and the bathroom – well, let’s just say I’ve seen hotel bathrooms twice the size that were half as functional. The bed was genuinely comfortable too, which isn’t always a given in European boutique places. And here’s something that’ll matter if you’re visiting in summer: the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, which is more than I can say for some of the pricier hotels I’ve tried in the area. The WiFi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to upload photos to make your friends jealous. One tiny thing – the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings (nothing crazy, just people enjoying themselves), but honestly, that’s part of the charm of staying in a real neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. If you’re the type who needs absolute silence, maybe pack earplugs, but I found it more atmospheric than annoying. The host was incredibly responsive too – answered questions quickly and gave genuinely useful local recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots everyone already knows about.

This studio is in an excellent location, just to the north of the Old Wall Rhodes town, in a great clothes shopping area with fab restaurants, bars and shops. It was very well equipped and the Hostess went over and above supplying almost everything you would need from wine, juice, fruit, bread, crackers and toiletries. The harbour is approx 1 min walk, about 5-10 mins to various beaches and about 5 mins to the old town. It also has a washing machine and a lift.
What could be improved: Very little to dislike but as it’s very central there is some traffic noise, but it didn’t bother us.Melissa from United States – 24 September 2024 (10/10)
Very nice studio apartment near the Old Town. It includes a comfortable bed, table with chairs, full kitchen with clothes washer, nice bathroom with large shower, and two sofas that could hold extra people if needed. Communication with the property manager was excellent, and she was very helpful with information and arrangements for us. The kitchen was nicely stocked for our arrival. There was also a small elevator in the building. Great place to stay.
What could be improved: The apartment was nicely soundproofed. Still, during busy times, the street noise outside was evident. If you are a very light sleeper, bring ear plugs.Jan from Turkey – 31 July 2024 (10/10)
In the heart of Rhodes Town, one of the most modern, perfectly equipped, well furnished and very clean studios. Nothing was missing. A very closely situated parking is available at 6€ per day and believe me this opportunity is very precious. Our dear host Nectaria was constantly checking on us like a sister. I strongly recommend this studio to those who want to enjoy central Rhodes. Thank you Nectaria.
What could be improved: Obviously a bit noisy when sitting at the lovely balcony but no problem when doors are shut.Nikolay from Bulgaria – 25 July 2024 (10/10)
Absolutely lovely apartment which I would recommend both here and to friends.
First of all – excellent communication with Nektaria – she was available all the time and answered all our questions.
Secondly – the welcome. In the apartment there were several bottles of water, wine, fresh fruit, sweets, etc. We have never had such a rich welcome.
As for the apartment itself – it is even better than in the pictures (it is brighter). Very clean! Good internet, hot water, comfortable beds and pillows. Equipped with everything we needed – enough crockery, toaster, sandwich maker, washing machine and so on… Very good air conditioning and insulation – the apartment was always cool, which was absolutely invaluable and saved us from the very hot weather in Rhodes at the end of July.
All of this is in the perfect location right at the back of the old town – close to both entrances to the old town, whilst being very convenient to get to from the airport with our suitcases and also close to the beaches. There are also plenty of restaurants, supermarkets etc nearby. I'm extremely happy with my choice in this regard because a location inside the old town itself brings some negatives, and here you have a perfect balance.
What could be improved: I try to always be honest and point out negatives too because we can always be better. But I really don't know what to say in this case. Maybe this: there is a very beautiful lamp on one side of the bed, but I hit my head on it a few times 😀 Thank God I didn't break it (the lamp). Also – a bigger knife would be helpful if you're used to cutting things for dinner with a big knife – there were only two small ones.
As for the noise – it can indeed be noisy in the street, with the biggest source of noise not people and cars but cicadas – but honestly the apartment has remarkable insulation. We had absolutely no trouble sleeping.Anna from United Kingdom – 26 September 2023 (10/10)
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was fantastic. Nektaria was wonderful and very attentive offering great recommendations and checking in with us if there was anything we needed.
The studio itself was wonderful, with equipment with everything you could need. The fridge was stocked fresh fruits, yogurts, bread etc. which was a lovely touch (and very delicious).
I would recommend staying here, the location was fantastic, in the centre and not far from old town of Elli beach. Even though you are on a busy road once you shut the windows you cant really here anything. If I return to Rhodes I would stay here!Ion from United States – 20 September 2023 (10/10)
The amenities and thoughtful complimentary extras, such as fresh fruit bowl, melons, white wine, snacks and drinks.
The apartment is nicer than most people's homes, and is well equipped with items like a washing machine, smart closet storage rack that swings down for access, and direct/indirect ambient & flood lighting.
The location is very central, and affordable parking is a less than five minute walk away.
The bathroom is rather spacious, very modern and stocked with a wide assortment of soaps, cremes, q-tips, body wash – you name it.
Nektaria is the physical embodiment of Greek Filoxenia (look it up). She efficiently and effectively communicates via WhatsApp and is always available for advice, suggestions, and even booking a cab for the airport. A better host we have never had.
If you're staying in Rhodes, do yourself a favor and book this apartment.
What could be improved: The parking situation in Rhodes is challenging, to say the least, but affordable parking is located just a few minutes walk from the apartment.
The apartment is located on a busy street, and even though the windows are high quality, the extractor vent in the bathroom lets street noise in, which can be bothersome when sleeping. This is easily rectified by closing the bathroom door, however.Dorothy from Spain – 1 July 2023 (10/10)
Location was fantastic, easy walking distance to everything, could not get a better location. Apartment was immaculate very well equipped with everything you would need kettle toaster coffee machine pots pans and crockery, hairdryer & washing machine Apartment was very spacious and had a great terrace to sit and have breakfast and people watch. Nektaria our host was excellent and was a source of local knowledge that we used. Restaurants recommend by her were excellent, you could not get a better host. There was plenty of fresh fruit, natural yogurt, water and a bottle of wine Welcome pack. There were also very sweet sesame seed soft homemade bars supplied which were superb with coffee. There was plenty of toiletries supplied, shower gel etc ready to use. We stayed 6 nights and had a wonderful time in Rhodes. If, and we may return to Rhodes there is no question where we will stay. Highly recommend this luxury apartment, get booking don’t hesitate you will thoroughly enjoy.
What could be improved: Not a thing everything was perfect.Stephanie from Germany – 6 November 2022 (10/10)
I stayed in this very clean apartment for the 3rd time. Nektaria is a very friendly, dedicated and reliable host and very hands-on. Everything is super-clean. The location in the city center is unbeatable. If you have no car, the old city is in short walking distance. At night it's easy to find parking space in front of the apartment. Since my last stay Nektaria and her sisters had some renovations done like a new 3 times isolated windows and a new security door. The hosts provide fruit, water and Greek sweets to welcome their guests. If I come to Rhodes again, I would stay there again.
Gill from United Kingdom – 8 September 2022 (10/10)
The apartment was in a great location in the new town but not far from the sea and the old town. It was exceptionally well equipped with everything you needed to make the stay as comfortable as possible.

Very clean apartment, located at the gates of the old town, close to the bus station and the beach, offering all the advantages of living in a city with the vibrant life and everything in vicinity but very well isolated by the sound proof windows. The owner is very nice so don‘t shy away asking for advices.
