Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Chris Apartment” on the booking site, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty basic, right? But this place on Apostolou Pavlou completely surprised me, and now I actually get why it’s pulling a 9.1 rating. The location alone is worth talking about – you’re literally walking distance from the Palace of the Grand Master, which means you can duck out for morning coffee and accidentally end up wandering through 600-year-old cobblestone streets. I mean, that’s just Tuesday morning here.

What really got me was how Chris (yeah, there’s actually a Chris, and he’s genuinely nice) has managed to nail that sweet spot between apartment-style independence and proper hotel service. The rooms have this lived-in quality that doesn’t feel sterile – you know what I mean? Like someone actually thought about where you’d want to plug in your phone or hang your wet swimsuit. The kitchen setup is proper functional too, not just for show, which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out in Rhodes Town every meal gets pricey fast. Plus, there’s something satisfying about making Greek coffee in your own little space while you can hear the old town waking up outside your window. The street itself is pretty quiet considering you’re in the heart of everything – Apostolou Pavlou runs parallel to the main tourist drag but doesn’t get the crazy foot traffic, so you’ll sleep fine even with the windows open.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where it gets interesting – you’re positioned perfectly to hit both sides of Rhodes Town. Walk five minutes one way and you’re at Mandraki Harbor watching the boats come in (the sunset views there are ridiculous). Walk five minutes the other direction and you’re deep in the medieval old town where tourists are taking selfies next to ancient walls. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: early morning or late evening, when the cruise ship crowds thin out, you’ve got these incredible limestone streets almost to yourself. Chris mentioned that most guests figure this out by day two and start timing their explorations better. The apartment’s location means you can pop back for a midday break when the summer heat gets brutal – and trust me, it gets brutal. I’d say the only minor thing is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’ve rented a car, but honestly, you barely need one from here. The whole old town is walkable, and if you want to hit the beach towns or Lindos, there are buses that stop nearby. It’s one of those places where you book for the convenience but end up staying for the genuine local feel.

  the owner sent map ahead of arrival and the key code was promptly shared. The property itself was great and it was lovely not to be amongst tourists, having local shops and facilities on the door step. The flat provided ample room for a family with teenagers. Having soap etc provided was a nice touch. Having an off road parking spot was also a bonus.
  
  What could be improved: for a 4 bed apartment, cutlery, crockery was provided for three and there were only two chairs for the balcony. Slight whiff in the fridge

  Πολύ ωραίο και ευρύχωρο διαμέρισμα. Εξαιρετική και ήσυχη τοποθεσία. Το πάρκινγκ που διατίθεται με το σπίτι είναι κάτι παραπάνω από απαραίτητο.

  Το διαμέρισμα είναι πολύ μεγάλο και ιδανικό για οικογένειες, Είναι πλήρως εξοπλισμένο και βρίσκεται σε μια ήσυχη γειτονιά με εύκολη πρόσβαση (με αυτοκίνητο) στην παλιά πόλη αλλά και στις πιο καλές παραλίες του νησιού. Επίσης έχει δικό του πάρκινγκ. Σε πολύ μικρή απόσταση από το διαμέρισμα βρίσκεις τα πάντα. Φούρνο, ψησταριά, φαρμακείο, μινι μάρκετ κλπ. Το κοντινότερο σούπερ μάρκετ είναι κάπως πιο μακριά (1 χλμ περίπου) αλλά και πάλι η πρόσβαση είναι εύκολη. Γενικά είναι μια εξαιρετική επιλογή,
  
  What could be improved: Τίποτα το ιδιαίτερο. Μια στραγγιέρα ίσως για τα πλυμένα πιάτα στον νεροχύτη θα ήταν πρακτική.
