Cathy’s Place

Cathy’s Place Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to Cathy’s Place on Υψηλάντου Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this three-star property. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come in unassuming packages. The building has that authentic Greek charm — nothing flashy, just clean white walls and blue accents that feel genuine rather than touristy. Cathy herself was there to greet me, which immediately set a personal tone that bigger hotels just can’t match.

The Heart of Paradisi

The location is actually brilliant, and I mean that — Paradisi puts you right where you want to be without the chaos of the main tourist strips. You’re close enough to Rhodes Airport that you won’t stress about transfers, but far enough that you won’t hear planes overhead. What really sold me was how easy it was to grab a coffee at the local kafeneio just down the street, where I watched Greek grandmothers play backgammon every morning. The beach is a pleasant walk away, and honestly, having that bit of distance means you get to see how locals actually live. The area offers excellent accessibility for exploring the island at your own pace.

Your Home Base

My room was simple but thoughtfully arranged — clean lines, good air conditioning (crucial in Greek summers), and a little balcony that caught the morning light perfectly. The bathroom was modern enough, though don’t expect marble and gold fixtures. What impressed me was the attention to details: proper blackout curtains, a mini-fridge that actually worked, and outlets positioned where you’d actually use them. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters when you’re trying to share those sunset photos. Each apartment is designed with comfort and practicality in mind.

Local Connections

Here’s where Cathy’s Place really shines — the personal touch makes all the difference. Cathy knows every taverna owner in the area and isn’t shy about sharing recommendations that you won’t find in guidebooks. She pointed me toward this family-run restaurant about ten minutes away where I had the best moussaka of my entire trip. The property might not have a spa or fancy amenities, but when your host genuinely cares about your experience, you end up discovering parts of Rhodes that most tourists miss entirely.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the place for Instagram-perfect infinity pools or room service menus. But if you want an authentic Greek experience with a host who treats you like family rather than a room number, Cathy’s Place delivers exactly that. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s something romantic about discovering a place that feels like a secret, even when it’s hiding in plain sight. You’ll leave with stories about real conversations and genuine connections, which honestly beats marble lobbies any day of the week. Free parking is available for guests who arrive by car. The kitchen facilities are well-equipped for those who prefer to prepare their own meals.
