You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Rhodes, but Casa Pietra Lindos honestly caught me off guard. I mean, when you first walk through those narrow cobblestone streets in Lindos – and trust me, you’ll be walking because cars can’t get up there – you might wonder if you made the right choice. The donkeys are still doing their tourist thing, kids are running around with ice cream, and it’s pretty chaotic during the day. But then you find this place tucked away from the main drag, and suddenly everything makes sense.

The house itself is this beautiful traditional stone building that feels like it’s been there forever (probably has), but inside it’s been done up with all the modern stuff you actually need. The air conditioning works properly – which honestly, in August, is basically the most important thing about any hotel in Greece. What really got me though was how they’ve kept all the original character. Those thick stone walls keep things cool naturally, and there’s this lovely courtyard area where you can sit with your morning coffee before the crowds wake up. The owner, well, she’s one of those people who actually lives in Lindos year-round, so she knows things. Like which tavernas the locals go to (hint: not the ones right by the Acropolis steps), and the best time to climb up to the ancient site without melting in the heat.

Here’s the thing about staying in Lindos proper – most people just day-trip from Rhodes town or one of the beach resorts, so once the tour buses leave around 5 PM, you get this completely different experience. Casa Pietra really capitalizes on this. You can walk out your door and have those famous white-washed streets basically to yourself, especially early morning or evening. The light for photos is incredible then, by the way. The beach – St. Paul’s Bay – is literally a five-minute walk down the hill, and while it gets packed midday, it’s gorgeous for a morning swim. I actually preferred the smaller beach on the other side; fewer people know about it, and the water’s just as clear.

The room was spotless, which I always appreciate, and the bed was actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many traditional places skimp on mattresses). They’ve got this little kitchenette setup that’s perfect if you want to grab some local cheese and tomatoes from the village shop. Speaking of which – there’s a tiny supermarket just off the main square that stays open later than you’d expect, super handy for water and snacks. One small thing – the WiFi can be a bit spotty, but honestly, if you’re staying somewhere this beautiful, maybe that’s not such a bad thing. The location means you’ll hear some noise from the restaurants and bars in the evening, but it dies down by midnight, and those stone walls are pretty thick. For what it’s worth, that 9.8 rating makes total sense to me. It’s not trying to be some massive luxury resort – it’s just a really well-run, authentic place in one of the most stunning villages in Greece.

  There are not good enough words to describe this place, and it's host, Maria. The location is perfect; 3 minutes (walking) from St. Paul's Bay and 11 minutes (walking) from the main beach. Perfectly located within the village to be close to all restaurants and shops, but still quiet and private. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the place is beautifully decorated. Maria is a gem; she is always accessible, kind, and smiling.

  The house was truly wonderful. It far exceeded expectations. Decorated with many impressive details. It also had a nice shower, comfortable mattresses, an equipped kitchen and fast internet speed. We loved the outdoor terrace as you can see the Acropolis. It was an unforgettable experience and we will definitely be back!!

  Casa Pietra is a gem of a property: Beautifully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean – it is perfectly positioned between St Paul’s idyllic beach and the lively centre of Lindos. Minutes away from each, it remains peaceful at night, despite its proximity to the bars and nightlife!
  Maria couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful throughout our stay which made us feel so welcome and looked after!
  The view of the acropolis from the pretty terrace area, which is situated directly on one of the picturesque steps is stunning.
  Powerful showers, really comfortable beds and quality towels and bedding as well as a well equipped kitchen made this a perfect base for an amazing holiday !

  The location was perfect to explore the old town in Lindos. Easy walk to the acropolis and the beaches closeby. Many restaurant and cafe options.

  the location was excellent. To get to the parking which is 10 mins away, We were able to catch a ride on a gulf cart, a free service included by the parking at St. paul bay. We absolutely enjoyed staying at Casa Pietra. Maria was extremely helpful with all questions. A lovely lady. the only difficulty was climbing several steps to the house. if you have knee or back problems, then this place is not for you Otherwise, it is the most charming , comfortable and beautiful place.

  I loved everything about this apartment, it was unique, spotless,v convenient you could really participate in Lindos, sitting on the chairs outside watching the world ho by was heaven. Marie and Family were wonderful. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
