Casa Emiliana is one of those places that makes you feel like you stumbled onto something special without trying too hard to impress you. Tucked away on Stefanou Kazouli street – which honestly, most tourists walk right past on their way to the main square – this four-star spot has that perfect balance of being close to everything but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that you can actually hear yourself think. The building itself has this lovely old-world charm that feels authentically Greek without being theatrical about it, you know? When I first walked up, I was struck by how the entrance feels more like stepping into someone’s elegant home rather than a typical hotel lobby.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been there a day or two. The rooms are thoughtfully designed – not huge, but everything has its place, and the beds are actually comfortable (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in boutique hotels). The bathrooms have proper water pressure, which might sound trivial until you’ve spent a week in places where the shower barely trickles. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and will point you toward that little bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM, or tell you which tavernas the locals actually eat at versus the tourist traps. I mean, they suggested this tiny place about three blocks away where the owner’s grandmother still makes the dolmades – that kind of insider knowledge you can’t Google.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Rhodes Town without feeling like you’re staying in the middle of a theme park. You’re a five-minute walk from the medieval old town walls, but you’re on a quieter residential street where you’ll see actual Greek families going about their daily lives. There’s a small market practically next door where you can grab water and snacks without paying hotel prices, and the main shopping street is close enough that you don’t need a taxi but far enough that you’re not dealing with the evening crowds stumbling back to their rooms. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re renting a car – the streets are narrow and very Greek in their approach to traffic rules – but the hotel staff will help you figure it out. With a 9.3 rating, Casa Emiliana clearly knows what it’s doing, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing Rhodes the way it’s meant to be experienced, rather than just checking tourist boxes.

  Really lovely place to stay, very clean and beautifully decorated. The location was great with walking distance, being 10 minutes from the old town. Lots of cafes close by.

  Beautifully decorated apartment, well equipped and clean. The host was really helpful and was on hand to answer any questions. The apartment is about a 15 minute walk from the old town, and there is plenty of free parking, shops and bakeries nearby.

  Savvas' 1st floor apartment is super comfortable and spacious, very stylish and surprisingly quiet given it's central location. There were lovely little friendly shops in the neighbourhood too. Self check-in was easy and the piano was a real treat.

  Fantastic place with kind host. Very clean and tidy, with everything you need for short or longer stay. Great location allowing you to get to the old town in 10-15 minutes. Clean and well-kept district with free parking. We'll come back for sure :).
