You know what? Casa DimiGre caught me completely off guard – and I mean that in the best possible way. I’ll be honest, when I first saw the address in Kattavia, I thought I was heading to the absolute middle of nowhere on Rhodes. But that’s actually the whole point, and once you get it, you really get it.

This place sits right at the southern tip of the island, literally a stone’s throw from Prasonisi Beach where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet. I’m talking maybe a five-minute walk, which sounds like tourist brochure nonsense but it’s genuinely true. The house itself feels like someone’s well-loved family home that just happens to be perfect for travelers – there’s this lived-in comfort that you can’t fake in those big resort chains. The rooms have this authentic Greek island vibe without feeling like a theme park version of it, if that makes sense. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night; you can actually hear the waves from your room, which is something you don’t realize you’re missing until you have it again.

Here’s the thing about Kattavia that most people don’t know – it’s not just some random village. It’s where serious windsurfers and kitesurfers come to train because Prasonisi has some of the most consistent winds in the Mediterranean. So you get this interesting mix of locals and these super athletic international travelers, which gives the whole area this relaxed but purposeful energy. The hosts at Casa DimiGre clearly understand this crowd; they know exactly when to point you toward the best tavernas (there’s this one place about ten minutes toward the village center that doesn’t even have a proper sign, but their grilled octopus is ridiculous) and when to just let you decompress. Parking is never an issue, which honestly was a relief after dealing with some of the nightmare situations in Rhodes Town. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering, no upselling, just keys and genuine recommendations about what to do with your time.

What I keep coming back to is how Casa DimiGre manages to feel both remote and accessible. Yes, you’re about an hour from the main tourist areas, but that drive along the southern coast is half the experience. And honestly? After a day or two of having Prasonisi practically to yourself, dealing with cruise ship crowds in Lindos feels like a special kind of torture. The house has this perfect balance where you can completely disconnect if you want to, but you’re not stranded – there’s decent WiFi, the small market in Kattavia has everything you need, and the local tavernas are genuinely good (not just “good for being remote”). I stayed in late September, which turned out to be ideal timing – still warm enough for swimming, but past the peak windsurfing season so everything felt more relaxed. If you’re looking for that authentic Greek island experience without the Instagram crowds, this is it. Just don’t expect nightlife or shopping – you come here for the sea, the silence, and that particular kind of peace you can only find at the edge of things.

  I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Demigree Apartment. The space is incredibly spacious, luxurious, and spotlessly clean, with air-conditioning in all areas that worked perfectly, keeping us comfortable throughout our stay. The attention to detail is impressive, with plenty of extras provided—shower gel, washing liquids, even a garden hose and BBQ with coal and lighting cubes included, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The host was extremely responsive and ensured a warm welcome, making the check-in and check-out process flexible and hassle-free. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a comfortable and stress-free stay!

  Spacious place, comfortable for family and friends. Great location for those who want to be close to Prasonisi. It takes two minutes to walk to the central place of Kattavia for a tasty meal. For us there was nothing missing and we will return to this place. We have visited many places in the south of the island and for us this was the best place.

  The best holiday villa we ever choose.
  Clean, comfortable, loaded in what ever you may need. Very unique design you can see that the person who planed and renoveted the villa put a life time experience and is heart in order make it something different.
  When we arrived the refrigerator was full with what ever we may need fruits water cheese milk plus many other things.
  The checkin and checkout was quick and friendly.
  Thanks a lot to the owners we will be back.

  Very nice and peaceful place in Greek style house Casa DimiGre. it’s very clean and equipped with everything what I needed even small things in the bathroom like cosmetics. The host is charming person who is with big heart and hospitality and think about everything. Welcome gifts like wine, weather and snacks for breakfast waiting for us after the long trip at night. it is really nice and cosy house.
