You know what struck me first about Casa di Giorgio? It’s tucked away in Kattavía, which honestly most people zip right past on their way to the more famous beaches up north — but that’s exactly what makes this place special. I mean, you’re practically at the southernmost tip of Rhodes here, where the island just sort of… ends. The hotel itself feels like someone’s elegant family home that happened to grow into something bigger, which actually isn’t far from the truth when you talk to Giorgio himself (yes, he’s real and yes, he’ll probably chat with you about the best fishing spots).

The location is pretty genius when you think about it. Sure, you’re about an hour from Rhodes Town, but Prassonisi Beach is literally a ten-minute walk away — and honestly, if you’ve never seen where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet, it’s worth the trip alone. The wind situation there is insane, which is why all the windsurfers and kitesurfers end up staying at Casa di Giorgio. I watched them from my balcony in the mornings, these colorful sails dancing around like confetti. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious, with these thick stone walls that keep things cool even when it’s blazing outside. My bathroom had this rainfall shower that — I’m not even exaggerating — had better water pressure than my apartment back home.

What really gets me is how Giorgio and his team handle the details. Check-in was this relaxed affair with homemade cookies and cold hibiscus tea, not some rushed transaction at a marble counter. The breakfast spread changes based on what’s good at the local markets, so you might get fresh figs one day and amazing local cheese the next. There’s this little courtyard where people end up lingering way longer than planned, sharing travel stories and comparing sunburns. The pool area stays pretty quiet during the day since most guests are off exploring, but evenings get lively with this mix of adventure travelers and couples who’ve discovered that sometimes the best vacation spots are the ones nobody’s instagramming yet. Fair warning though — if you need constant entertainment or shopping within walking distance, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want to actually disconnect and experience this wild, windswept corner of Greece where the landscape looks almost lunar and the sunsets are absolutely ridiculous, Casa di Giorgio nails it. Plus, that 9.4 rating isn’t just people being nice — the place genuinely delivers on creating this relaxed, authentic Greek island experience without any of the tourist trap nonsense.

  Casa di Giorgio is a wonderful place to stay. The accommodation is very peaceful, clean and Nancy is an outstanding host, who takes care of all your request, questions and supports where help is needed at any time. There are great small restaurants in Kattavia and it takes roughly 10 min. by car to the Prasonisi beach, a spot where kite/ windsurfer have a proper place for their activities but also you get the chance to relax on sunbeds at the beach .We would come back any time as we had an amazing time

  Huisje was perfect in orde bij aankomst. Alles was aanwezig. Host Nancy was zeer communicatief, en steeds klaar voor advies. Foto's op de website reflecteren 99% de realiteit. Alleen het fonteintje was minder onderhouden.
  
  What could be improved: Een extra keukenhanddoek is misschien een aanrader. Het feit dat de bewoners van de studio inzicht hadden op ons terras en via dezelfde toegangsdeur het terrein moesten betreden, was niet altijd even leuk.
