You know what caught me off guard about Casa de Manu? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street – Vérnis Street – that most tourists walk right past while rushing to the Palace of the Grand Masters. I mean, Rhodes Town can feel like a tourist trap sometimes, but this little corner still has that authentic Greek island charm. The building itself is gorgeous, honestly – one of those traditional stone houses that somehow manages to feel both historic and completely comfortable. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s hard to find in the busier parts of the old town.

What really sets this place apart is how the owners – and I’m assuming Manu is one of them – actually seem to care about the details that matter. The rooms have this perfect balance of modern amenities without losing the character of the old architecture. I loved the way they’ve preserved the original stone walls but added proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in July). The beds are actually comfortable, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many boutique hotels miss this mark. And the bathrooms – well, they’re small but smartly designed, with surprisingly good water pressure. You can hear the church bells from Evangelismos Church in the morning, which sounds romantic but isn’t too loud if you’re trying to sleep in.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to explore Rhodes properly. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Sokratous Street with all its shops and restaurants, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise at night. There’s this little taverna around the corner – I think it’s called Koukos – that serves the best souvlaki I had on the entire island, and the staff at Casa de Manu definitely know about it. Speaking of staff, they’re incredibly helpful without being pushy. They gave me directions to some lesser-known spots along the medieval walls that I never would have found otherwise. Parking can be tricky in this part of town, but they’ll point you toward the municipal lot near the Nea Agora, which is only about a five-minute walk. The whole experience feels personal – like staying with friends who happen to run a really well-designed guesthouse. With a 9.8 rating, I get why people keep coming back here. It’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, even though you’re right in the heart of one of Greece’s most visited destinations.

  A lovely and very comfortable apartment in a quiet neighbourhood. Litsa was very warm and welcoming. Couldn't ask for more. Plenty of space, an outdoor area with lemon tree, car parking.
  
  What could be improved: It was all good really. Took us a while to find as Google Maps doesn't locate it properly – use the map on booking.com. Rhodes Old Town is a 45 minute walk away so you'll need your own transport.

  Το κατάλυμά ήταν εξαιρετικό συνδυάζει υψηλή ποιότητα και πολύ προσιτές τιμές. Αυτό που το κάνει να ξεχωρίζει είναι η φιλοξενία. Η ιδιοκτήτρια η κ.α. Λίτσα από την πρώτη στιγμή μας έκανε να νιώσουμε σαν στο σπίτι μας, μας βοήθησε σε ότι χρειαστήκαμε και ήταν πάντα εκεί για να μας εξυπηρετήσει. Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα!!!
