Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Cactus Suites on Agioy Nektarioy street – the name made me think it might be some themed place with plastic cacti everywhere. But you know what? This place actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The building sits in this quieter pocket of Faliraki where you’re not dealing with the main strip chaos, but you can still hear the distant hum of beach life if you listen for it.

What struck me first was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about the details that matter when you’re traveling. I mean, check-in was smooth, sure, but they also knew exactly which rooms get the morning sun (ask for one if you’re an early riser) and which ones stay cooler if you prefer sleeping in. The suites themselves have this comfortable, lived-in feeling – nothing too fancy or trying too hard, just thoughtful touches like actually decent coffee makers and bathroom lighting that doesn’t make you look like a zombie. The balconies are where this place really shines though. Most overlook these surprisingly lush gardens that someone clearly puts real effort into maintaining, and in the evenings you get these amazing cooking smells drifting up from the tavernas down the hill.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to appreciate – you’re about a seven-minute walk to Faliraki Beach, but it’s downhill going there (which means uphill coming back, just so you know). The walk passes this little bakery that opens around 6 AM if you’re into that warm bread smell first thing in the morning. There’s also decent parking if you rent a car, which I’d actually recommend since you’re positioned perfectly for day trips to Lindos or even just exploring the quieter beaches along the east coast. The pool area gets busy around mid-morning with families, but early evening it turns into this peaceful spot where you can actually hear yourself think. I spent more time there than I planned, honestly – something about the way the light hits the water and those palm trees they’ve got scattered around. The whole place maintains that 9.3 rating because they seem to understand that good hospitality is mostly about not screwing up the simple stuff, then adding just enough special touches to make you remember why you chose to stay there instead of somewhere else.

  I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, and everything was perfect. The room cleanliness, the staff's friendliness, and the proximity to the sea were all excellent. It’s also in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the city. The breakfasts were delicious as well. I will definitely visit again!

  Staying at Cactus was a pure pleasure – a beautiful, clean room, with the cleaning lady changing towels and mopping the floors daily. Delicious breakfasts right by the sea, and the staff was incredibly kind, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere. I highly recommend it to everyone! The location is also very good, with everything close by.

  Everything about Cactus Suites is perfect! The owners are such a nice family, they made me feel so welcomed from the first moment I came. I had a feeling like they're my old friends (:
  Breakfast was delicious every single day and the fact that they provide you every day with a beach towel is just top tier! The room was gorgeous and clean, it has everything that a person needs for a vacay, and more!

  It's a small family business, and meets your expectations. They are friendly, polite, helpful and clean people. We enjoyed staying at the facility. Close to downtown, close to beach. You cannot find both at this quality all the time. Since it's close to downtown you hear the music from close bars but it is not disturbing.

  Everything was tip top. The location is 20 m away form the beach. The staff is fantastic. Really nice family run place. They do have their own restaurant as well and the food is really good. Breakfast was excellent. The room was very spacious and comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing that wasn't that great is that the room faces a local club-restaurant and music was played until 2-3 am and very loud since the suite door is pretty much 20m away, at most. Luckily, this happened only a couple of times. And good thing I had a pair of airplane ear plugs with me.

  Really nice room, the shower is fantastic with double ceiling and wall showers. The hot tub is a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable. The location is a stones throw from the beach which is a very nice beach.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately the room is right on the road and noise late at night did wake us, but we could fault the room.
