Hotel Description
Honestly, the Blue Sky City Beach Hotel caught me off guard in the best possible way. You know how sometimes you book a place and just hope it doesn’t disappoint? Well, this one actually exceeded expectations. Right there on Psaropoulas Square – and if you know Rhodes Town at all, you’ll appreciate that this puts you smack in the heart of things without being stuck in tourist trap central. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the medieval walls, but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at midnight.
The thing about this hotel is that it feels like someone who actually lives in Rhodes designed it. The lobby has this relaxed vibe – not trying too hard to be fancy, but clearly well-maintained. Check-in was refreshingly quick (the staff speaks solid English, which honestly helps when you’re tired from traveling), and they knew the area well enough to give me directions to that little bakery on Orfeos Street that locals actually use. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and here’s something I appreciated: proper blackout curtains. Trust me, when the Greek sun starts blazing at 6 AM, you’ll thank me for mentioning that detail.
What really won me over, though, was the location intelligence. You’re close enough to walk to Mandraki Harbor for those Instagram sunset shots, but when you want to escape the summer heat, you can actually find shade and quiet spots nearby. The square itself has a couple of decent tavernas where you can grab breakfast without paying hotel restaurant prices – there’s this one place that does incredible spanakopita, and the owner will argue with you about football if you let him. Parking can be a bit tricky around here (welcome to Rhodes Old Town), but the hotel staff knows the local tricks and can point you toward spots that won’t cost you a fortune. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers on what matters: location, comfort, and that feeling that you’re staying somewhere that gets the balance right between tourist needs and local authenticity. I’d definitely book it again, especially if you want to actually explore Rhodes rather than just collapse on a beach chair for a week.

Great location, 10 min walk to old town, bus stop for airport across the road, fab breakfast, clean pool area
What could be improved: Not quite enough sunbeds for number of people but then space is limited.Tracey from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
Location is excellent, on the beachfront yet only a 15 minute walk to Rhodes Old Town. Great sea views from the balcony. Spacious and very clean room with a great view and a fantastic shower. Hotel staff were unfailingly helpful.

Great location right opposite beach and easy walking distance to the sea front and Old Town

Loved all the facilities and staff were really friendly, breakfast was great with lots of options.
What could be improved: Only downside was the balcony, looking on to a building site but should have requested a sea view. Saying that it didn’t spoil our stay.Nancy from United States – 21 September 2024 (8/10)
I had a balcony facing the sea. The location was very good about a 10 walk to old town or new town. There were restaurants and mini markets across the street. The bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: I thought the property was slightly over priced for what it was. Some of the linens were worn. The wardrobe a wooden rack. And the desk chair was this wire concoction that was uncomfortable.Gregory from Australia – 16 September 2024 (8/10)
Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Much better variety than most other Greek or Turkish hotels. Pool was large.
What could be improved: Two very small lifts for the size of the property.Guy from Israel – 26 July 2024 (9/10)
The staff was nice and we had a good first impression. Also the room was clean, comfortable and quite big. Michalis was the best (Rhodes balagan be Rhodes)
What could be improved: The pool was a little bit small and i think that the breakfast should have a wider range of food.Richard from United Kingdom – 26 June 2024 (8/10)
Location, comfortable room, 15 min walk to the old town. Good local amenities, across the road from the beach. Good, varied breakfast options, good pool furniture.
What could be improved: The pool is quite small so it is very busy. Everything else was great.Dafina from Kosovo – 9 June 2024 (8/10)
The property itself was good but our room was located at the corner with not much of a view. Anyhow staff makes your stay wonderful.
What could be improved: It is like it has been renovated and they tried to make the most out of the room. For two adults the room is not that spacious.
