You know what struck me first about Blue Bay Villas? It’s actually on the first floor of a building right in Stegna Bay, which sounds a bit odd until you see the place — then it all makes sense. The setup gives you this perfect elevated view over the bay without feeling like you’re stuck in some massive hotel complex. I mean, with a 9.9 rating, I had high expectations, but honestly, the intimate scale of this place was refreshing after staying in so many cookie-cutter resorts.

The Stegna Bay Setting

Stegna Bay itself is one of those Rhodes gems that locals actually use — you’ll see Greek families here on weekends, which is always a good sign. The beach stretches out in this gentle curve with surprisingly clear water, and there’s none of that overcrowded chaos you get at some of the more famous spots. What’s clever about Blue Bay Villas is how it sits just back from the waterfront, so you get the sea views but also easy access to the handful of tavernas that line the bay. The drive from Rhodes town takes about 45 minutes through some pretty mountain scenery, though having that free private parking on site removes any stress about where to leave your rental car.

The Space and Comfort

The villa itself feels more like staying in a well-appointed apartment than a traditional hotel room. There’s actual space to spread out — something you don’t always get in Greek island accommodations. The kitchen setup means you can grab fresh ingredients from the local shops (there’s a decent mini-market about a five-minute walk away) and prepare simple meals, though honestly, the tavernas here are good enough that I didn’t cook much. The air conditioning works properly, which might sound basic but trust me, it matters during those July afternoons when the temperature climbs.

Getting Around and Exploring

Having a car really opens things up from this location — you’re perfectly positioned to explore the eastern side of Rhodes without the daily trek from Rhodes town. Lindos is about 20 minutes south, and you can easily hit some of the quieter beaches like Tsambika or even venture up to the mountain villages around Archangelos. The local bus does run along this coast, but the schedule’s a bit hit-or-miss, so that parking situation becomes pretty valuable. I actually enjoyed the slightly removed feeling — close enough to civilization but far enough to feel like you’ve escaped the tourist machine.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.8 location rating makes complete sense once you’ve been here a few days. Couples seem to gravitate toward Blue Bay Villas because it strikes this nice balance between having things to do and places to just relax without agenda. The bay has enough going on — swimming, a few waterfront restaurants, some decent snorkeling around the rocks — but it’s not overwhelming. Plus, there’s something appealing about staying somewhere that feels like a local secret rather than a destination everyone’s heard of. The combination of the peaceful setting, proper amenities, and that elevated position overlooking the water creates exactly the kind of Greek island experience most people are hoping for but don’t always find.

  The apartment is located 500m up hill from Stegna beach in a really quiet area with a great view. Eleni, the host, has been really kind and friendly: it was easy to take and leave the keys, she suggested us a really good beach close to the apartment and she also left some food for us. The apartment seems new or recently renewed with air conditioning and shutters present in every room.
  
  What could be improved: WiFi signal not really good, some barbecue tools were missing and a brighter light in the bathroom would be better.

  Eleni ve tatlı ailesinin muhteşem evinde kaldık. Kocaman bir bahçe ve mükemmel manzaralı bu ev tamamen bize aitti. Girişte ve çıkışta evsahibimizin bize çok hoş sürprizleri vardı. Ev yepyeniydi ve herşey fazlasıyla düşünülmüştü. Bu dost aileyi tanımak tatilimiz için büyük şanstı. Tekrar gitmeyi dört gözle bekliyoruz.

  Piękna i bardzo spokojna lokalizacja dla tych, którzy chcą odpocząć, cisza, spokój i wspaniały widok. Dom bardzo dobrze wyposażony i czysciutki. Wspaniali właściciele☺️, którzy dbają o swoich gości,na powitanie pyszne wino, owoce, a nawet mała niespodzianka 😆. Polecam z całego ♥️. Byliśmy w wielu miejscach, ale nikt nas tak serdecznie nie ugościł.

  Die Unterkunft war sehr ruhig gelegen und doch nah an der Hauptstraße am Strand mit vielen kleinen Restaurants. Die Besitzer sind Seher gastfreundlich und haben einen schönen kleinen Garten angelegt. Man kann einiges entdecken. Als wir kamen, war sogar für das erste Frühstück vorgesorgt. Die Wohnung ist sehr modern und alle Utensilien sind neu. Wir haben viele Tipps bekommen. Die Aussicht über Stegna und die Landschaft aber insbesondere hat uns der tolle Meerblick gefallen. Die Betten waren sehr gemütlich und die Zimmer waren mit Klimaanlagen ausgestattet. Es war genügend Stauraum da und man hatte einige Sitzecken drinnen und draußen. Wir würden diese Wohnung jederzeit weiterempfehlen und kommen sicherlich eines Tages wieder.

  To był naprawdę wspaniały czas, z przyjemnością wrócimy tu jeszcze. Czyste i zadbane mieszkanie- świetnie wyposażone, cudowny ogród, prześliczna i spokojna okolica. Bardzo gościnni właściciele, gdy przyjechaliśmy bardzo późno do Blue Bay czekała na nas pełna lodówka jedzenia. To było bardzo miłe! Polecamy serdecznie!

  Die Lage ist wunderschön!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  Absolut ruhig oberhalb des kleinen Ortes Stegna, direkt unterhalb des Hanges, gelegen. Mit weitem Blick über das Meer.
  Am Morgen Sonne auf dem Balkon.
  Die Gastgeberin und ihr Mann haben uns liebevoll empfangen und sich um uns gekümmert. Sie waren für sämtliche Fragen stets erreichbar. Wir haben sogar kleine landestypische Geschenke erhalten. Bei Ankunft fanden wir Eier, Wurst, Käse, Toastbrot, Wasser und Wein in der Küche vor.
  
  Die Unterkunft ist komplett neu. Wir waren die ersten Gäste. Es gibt sogar einen Grillplatz im Außenbereich. Dieser wird gemeinschaftlich genutzt mit den Mietern der unteren Ferienwohnung. Ein Garten um das Haus wurde gerade angelegt.
  Einen separaten Essbereich gibt es im Eingangsbereich zur oberen Etage.
  
  Wir möchten uns nochmals bei Eleni und ihrem Mann für ihre aufmerksame Gastfreundschaft bedanken. Ihr habt ein wunderschönes Fleckchen für Urlauber.
