You know how some hotels try way too hard to be boutique-y and just end up feeling pretentious? Well, BIBLIOTHEQUE actually pulls it off – and honestly, the name makes perfect sense once you step inside. It’s tucked away on Timokreontos Street, which is one of those narrow medieval lanes in Rhodes Old Town that tourists usually rush past on their way to the main sights. Big mistake, because this little stretch is actually quieter than the chaos around Sokratous Street, but you’re still literally two minutes from everything.

The whole place has this refined, literary vibe without being stuffy about it. I mean, they’ve got books everywhere – not just random decoration books, but stuff you’d actually want to flip through. The rooms feel more like a stylish friend’s apartment than a typical hotel setup, with these gorgeous high ceilings and stone details that remind you you’re sleeping inside 600-year-old walls. What really got me though was the attention to small things – the lighting is actually good (try finding that in most boutique places), and the beds are seriously comfortable. You’ll sleep well here, which matters more than you think when you’re wandering cobblestones all day. The staff genuinely knows the area too, not just the obvious restaurant recommendations but the kind of local spots that make you feel like you discovered something special.

Here’s the thing about staying in the Old Town – parking can be a nightmare, but BIBLIOTHEQUE sorts that out for you, and the whole check-in experience is refreshingly smooth. The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience medieval Rhodes without the cruise ship crowds trampling over you at 8 AM. Mornings are magical here before the day-trippers arrive, and evenings have this lovely golden-hour thing happening when the light hits the stone buildings just right. The hotel sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the Palace of the Grand Masters or the harbor in minutes, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you can actually have a conversation without shouting. Plus – and this matters if you’re a light sleeper – it’s surprisingly quiet at night. That 9.6 rating isn’t just hype; they’ve really figured out how to do boutique hospitality right. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay in Rhodes, which is pretty much the highest compliment I can give any hotel.

  The property is perfectly located in the old town.
  We were met at the address even though our flight was delayed. The place is immaculate. Excellent fully equipped kitchen with a few nice food items in the fridge and on the side for us to eat.
  Two double beds in bedrooms (one en-suite) and a single bed in a landing annex.
  The en-suite has a shower. The shared bathroom a spa bath.
  
  What could be improved: Limited area for sitting as a group other than the kitchen table. No outside area to use. However lots of bars and restaurants outside the door.

  The property had everything you needed! It was in a great location, near major sites, renovated and clean. We traveled with a family of four and had plenty of space with two bathrooms. Beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and the owner was very accommodating. He helped us with luggage, left fresh fruit, bread, drinks etc. for snacks and breakfast and even offered to help us with some errands. A very kind man! He arranged airport transportation as well when asked. Thank you very much for a fabulous few days in Rhodes! Highly recommend this rental property!!!

  Perfect accommodation in the old town.
  Coffee, tea, snacks, bread, milk and wine provided upon arrival which was a nice touch. 2 bathrooms and a spa was a luxury. Plenty of towels.
  Everything was 10 min walk from house.
  Host was great, even arranging an early 3:30am taxi transfer for us which was appreciated..

  It was a cozy place with great location in old town. So , we found that all we need in this house , it is convenient for family or friend groups. Host was very kind and helpful to fulfill your needs. The location was very good therefore you can find great restaurants and beaches just by 5-10 min walking. Thanks for everything.

  The location is ideal, right in the heart of Old Town Rhodes. The apartment & the host were great. We thoroughly enjoyed being right in the center of Old Town with many, many activities, restaurants, & sites within an easy walk. We hope to return one day in future, and we'd happily stay here again.
  
  What could be improved: My only recommendation would be to provide detailed arrival instructions. We arrived with large suitcases due to our extended stay in Greece and we were not sure which of eight entry gates to ask our taxi driver to drop us off at, nor was it clear having never been in Old Town Rhodes before, how to interpret Google Maps walking directions. I believe a simple hand drawn map showing the main walkways, courtyards, and key alleys would have aided us in locating the apartment from a recommended entry gate.

  Absolutely Everything. Smallest of the details in terms of function and needs were meticulously and sensitively planned. The furnishings were of very high quality including high quality linens. The kitchen was equipped as good as your regular kitchen if not better. Have lived in so many properties but this was definitely one of the most meticulously detailed as well as super comfortable. This was a complete home away from home.
