BELVITA Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into BELVITA Hotel in Kolimbia, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this place knows what it’s doing.” It’s a four-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — just solid, well-run hospitality in one of Rhodes’ most underrated spots. The lobby has this relaxed Mediterranean vibe that instantly makes you forget about whatever travel stress you had getting here.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, Kolimbia is one of those places that locals will tell you about if you ask where they’d actually want to stay on Rhodes. It’s got this perfect balance — close enough to the action but far enough away that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every morning. The beach here is actually really nice, with that mix of sand and pebbles that’s typical for this part of the island. You know what I love about this spot? You can walk to authentic tavernas where the prices haven’t been inflated for tourists, and the hotel’s location puts you right in the sweet spot for exploring both the east coast beaches and the inland villages.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-maintained four-star — clean, comfortable, with that Mediterranean color palette that somehow never gets old. The air conditioning actually works (which, trust me, matters in July), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The balcony views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the garden-view rooms are pleasant since the property is well-landscaped.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast situation here is actually impressive — they’ve got this huge buffet spread that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of. Continental options, full English breakfast, vegetarian and vegan choices, even gluten-free stuff that doesn’t taste like cardboard. I mean, it’s rare to find a hotel that does American-style breakfast items alongside proper Greek offerings, but they pull it off. The restaurant area gets busy around 8:30 AM, so if you’re not a morning person, either go early or wait until after 9:30 when the tour groups have cleared out.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is the combination of location and value — couples especially seem to get this, rating the location really highly for romantic getaways. The parking is free (which is actually a big deal in Greece), and the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you have a good time. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but it delivers on the fundamentals really well. You’ll leave feeling like you got exactly what you paid for, maybe even a bit more.
Hotels in Rhodes hug Lindos cliffs, ancient harbors, and palm promenades perfumed by night-blooming jasmine.
