Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Bellavista House? The name actually makes sense – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with Greek hotels. When you’re standing on their terrace looking out over the Aegean, you get why they went with “beautiful view.” I mean, Monolithos isn’t exactly the Rhodes that most tourists see (we’re talking about the quiet southwestern corner here, not the crowded medieval town), but that’s precisely what makes this place special.
The thing about staying in Monolithos is that you’re basically choosing a completely different Rhodes experience. Most people rush through on day trips to see the castle ruins perched on that dramatic rock outcrop – which, by the way, is literally a ten-minute walk from Bellavista House. But actually staying here? You get to experience this area when all the tour buses have left and the light turns golden over the sea. The hotel sits perfectly positioned so you can walk to the castle for sunset without dealing with crowds, then come back to what feels like your own private retreat. The owners clearly understand the rhythm of this place – they’ve created these lovely quiet spaces where you can just sit and actually hear the waves below.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to feel both polished and unpretentious at the same time. The rooms are genuinely comfortable (good beds, thank god), and everything works properly, but there’s none of that sterile resort feeling you get at bigger places. The family running it knows exactly what travelers need – they’ll sort out car rentals, give you the real story on which beaches are worth the drive (Fourni Beach is incredible, but the road is… well, it’s an adventure), and they actually remember your name. I stayed during late September when things were quieter, and honestly, it felt like staying with knowledgeable friends rather than just checking into another hotel. The breakfast happens on this lovely terrace where you can plan your day while looking out at the water – and trust me, you’ll want to linger there with your coffee longer than you planned.

We stayed at this beautiful house for two days and were absolutely impressed! The view from the balcony is breathtaking – perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening, surrounded by peace and quiet. The place was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged down to the last detail. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, making us feel right at home. It was a relaxing and carefree experience that we’d love to repeat. Highly recommended!
