You know what struck me first about this place? The moment you walk up to 13 Episkopou Kiprianou, you realize you’re not staying in just another converted building – this is actually a proper neoclassical mansion that someone clearly cared enough about to restore right. I mean, we’re talking about those gorgeous high ceilings with original moldings, tall windows that let in all that Mediterranean light, and honestly, architectural details you just don’t see in modern hotels. The location is pretty brilliant too – you’re literally a five-minute walk from Mandraki Harbor (where those famous deer statues are), but tucked away on a quiet street where you won’t hear the tourist crowds until you want to.

What really gets me is how they’ve managed to keep the historical character while making everything actually functional for modern travelers. The rooms feel spacious in that old-world way – thick walls that keep things cool during those brutal July afternoons, and I noticed the bathrooms have been completely updated without looking like they were just slapped in there. The staff genuinely knows the area too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this little taverna on Pythagora Street that I never would’ve found otherwise, and gave me the real story about timing my visit to the Palace of the Grand Masters (go early morning or late afternoon, trust me). Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of the old town – there’s street parking nearby but it fills up fast during peak season, so I’d recommend asking them about it when you book.

The whole experience feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s beautifully restored family home than checking into a hotel. I stayed there in late September, which turned out to be perfect timing – still warm enough for the beaches but without the summer chaos, and you could actually enjoy walking around the medieval streets without dodging selfie sticks every two seconds. The 9 out of 10 rating makes complete sense once you’re there; it’s that rare combination of historical charm, solid modern comfort, and a location that puts you right in the heart of things without the noise. Honestly, if you’re the type who appreciates staying somewhere with real character – and you want to feel like you’re experiencing Rhodes rather than just visiting it – this place delivers in a way that surprised me.

  Everything was perfect. 20min from the center by foot. 3 bedrooms, air conditioner, 2 bathrooms with shower, beautiful terrace, full kitchen, washer-dryer, iron, hairdryer. Check-in was very convenient. We liked our stay and would recommend to everyone to stay in this beautiful house.

  Excellent location, quiet area and easily accessible to both old and new town. Beautiful house and secluded garden with everything you need. Loved the nearby beach for swimming and snorkelling. Excellent fruit and veg shop and market nearby. Very helpful host. Thoroughly recommend this place to stay!

  Красивый и просторный дом, гостеприимный хозяин, есть абсолютно все необходимое для комфортного пребывания.
  Очень чисто! В наличии зонтик и 2 шезлонга.
  Разнообразный и очень красивый набор посуды. Вся техника в рабочем состоянии.

  What could be improved: К сожалению, вечером невозможно комфортно провести время на улице во внутреннем дворе, так как с наступлением темноты во двор приходят большие летающие тараканы. Это специфика объектов жилья в старом городе, ранее мы сталкивались с подобным на острове Крит. Важно, что эти тараканы не заходят в дом, повторюсь – в доме идеально чисто! Просто будьте готовы к насекомым во дворе, в дневное время они отсутствуют. Кстати, тараканы не приходят вечером во внешний двор, так что там можно провести время.
  Очень слабый сигнал wi-fi, приемлемо работает только в гостиной, во внутренний двор и во внешний сигнал не доходит.
  Слив душевой кабины на нижнем этаже плохо справляется со сбором воды.
