You know what struck me first about Beach Pearl? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet stretch of road between Pilona and Katavias – honestly, if you’re not looking for it, you’ll probably drive right past. But that’s sort of the point, I think. While everyone’s fighting for beach chairs in Lindos, you’re here in Lachania with this genuinely peaceful vibe that feels like the Rhodes most tourists never discover.

The hotel itself is solidly four-star without trying too hard to impress – I mean, the lobby’s got that clean, modern Greek island aesthetic with white walls and blue accents, but it doesn’t feel sterile like some of these chain places. What really got me was stepping out onto my balcony that first morning. The view stretches toward the southern coast, and you can actually hear the waves if the wind’s right, even though you’re not directly beachfront. The rooms are comfortable – good air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in July), decent-sized bathroom, and the bed was actually firm enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been sleeping on a marshmallow.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the staff genuinely knows the area. When I asked about getting to Prasonisi (that’s the windsurfing spot at the very tip of the island), they didn’t just hand me a brochure. The guy at reception actually drew me a little map showing which road to take to avoid the tourist bus traffic, and mentioned that early morning is when you get the best light for photos. The hotel’s location means you’re about a 15-minute walk to Lachania village center – and honestly, do that walk at sunset because the light hitting those traditional stone houses is incredible. There’s this little taverna called Platanos (under the big plane tree, obviously) where the locals eat, and you can actually get a proper Greek meal without the inflated resort prices. The hotel breakfast is decent – nothing fancy, but fresh bread, local honey, proper Greek yogurt, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine. Parking’s easy and free, which might not sound exciting but you’ll appreciate it when you’re exploring the southern part of the island. The pool area gets busy mid-afternoon but stays pretty quiet in the mornings if you’re an early swimmer like me. Only minor gripe – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, but honestly, isn’t that kind of the point of being here?
