So I stumbled across Avra View in Kiotari pretty much by accident – well, actually my original booking fell through and this was supposed to be a backup plan. Honestly? Best travel mishap ever. This place sits right in the sweet spot of Rhodes’ southeast coast where most tourists haven’t figured out to look yet. Kiotari’s got that authentic Greek island vibe without the Lindos crowds, and Avra View just… gets it, you know? The moment you walk in, there’s this relaxed energy that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some corporate hotel chain.

What really struck me about this spot – and I mean this in the best way – is how the staff actually remembers your name after day one. The owner (I think his name was Dimitris?) knows every single guest and somehow keeps track of whether you prefer your coffee strong or if you’re the type who needs extra towels. It’s that kind of attention that you don’t expect from a four-star place, but somehow they pull it off without being overly formal about it. The rooms are thoughtfully done too, with these little touches like locally-made soaps and balcony furniture that’s actually comfortable enough to spend your evening on. Speaking of balconies – if you can swing a sea-view room, do it. The sunrise over the Aegean from there is something else, especially with a cup of that excellent Greek coffee they serve.

Location-wise, you’re about a two-minute walk to Kiotari Beach, which honestly beats most of the famous Rhodes beaches hands down – cleaner water, way fewer umbrellas fighting for space, and this little taverna called Filosofia right on the sand that does incredible grilled octopus. The hotel’s perfectly positioned for day trips too; Asklipiḯon (the ancient healing temple) is practically next door if you’re into history, and you can reach Lindos in about twenty minutes by car – though honestly, after a few days in Kiotari’s laid-back rhythm, Lindos feels almost too hectic. Parking’s never an issue here, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands will appreciate. The only tiny downside? The Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty during peak evening hours when everyone’s uploading their sunset photos, but I mean, isn’t that kind of the point of being in Greece anyway?

  Rodi nn è stata una scelta xke da 40anni giriamo solo le isole piccole greche e quindi all’inizio è stata solo una tappa obbligata per l’aereo e la scoperta, comunque
  Ma poi a casa di Pari Avra Appartam mi sn sentita bene, abbracciata da una famiglia greca c grande spirito di ospitalità e sereno sincero desiderio di farci star bene
  L’appartamento da noi scelto è stato un buon rifugio per le alte sorprendenti temperature: tutti i comfort compresi melone acqua e vino nel frigor ci hanno accolto e siamo stati bene ! Una settimana di sorprese per noi sempre in giro alla scoperta dell’isola che aldilà della grandezza ci ha riservato conoscenze positive e strettamente greche come la buona cucina della taverna PELECANOS di Vatì consigliata da Pari
  La casa è in una posizione ottimale anche per la spiaggetta vicina x un primo bagno del giorno; lontano dal frastuono di Lindos e Rodi e ideale x raggiungere spiagge da sogno !
  Evviva da sempre la Grecia e i Greci !
