You know what hit me first when I pulled up to the Atrium Palace? The smell of jasmine mixed with that distinctive Greek sea air – honestly, it’s intoxicating in the best way. This place sits right on Main Street in Kalathos, which might sound busy but actually works in your favor since you’re walking distance from those little tavernas the locals frequent (skip the tourist traps closer to Lindos and eat where the Kalathians do).

The resort itself is sprawling – I mean, they’ve got villas scattered around if you want that extra privacy, but the main hotel has this gorgeous atrium that actually lives up to the name. The thalasso spa is the real deal too, not just some fancy marketing term. They use actual seawater treatments, and after spending a day exploring Rhodes’ medieval streets or hiking up to the Acropolis, your legs will thank you. What I loved is how they’ve managed to feel luxurious without being stuffy – you can wander around in your flip-flops without anyone giving you looks, but the service is still that smooth, anticipatory kind you expect from a five-star place. The staff remembers your coffee order by day three, which honestly makes all the difference.

Here’s the thing about Kalathos that most people don’t realize – it’s positioned perfectly between the crazy-busy Faliraki scene and the postcard-perfect-but-crowded Lindos. You get this quieter vibe (especially in the evenings when the day-trippers head back), but you’re still only about fifteen minutes from Anthony Quinn Bay if you want those Instagram-worthy swimming spots. The hotel’s beach isn’t huge, but it’s clean and the water’s that ridiculous turquoise you see in photos and think can’t be real. Parking’s easy too – not something you can say about a lot of places on this part of the island. I’d suggest getting one of the sea-view rooms if your budget allows it, because waking up to that vista with your morning Greek coffee… well, it sort of ruins you for regular hotel views back home. The only minor thing I’d mention is that it can get pretty full during peak season (July-August), so if you’re looking for maximum tranquility, shoulder season might be your sweet spot.

  I've never stayed anywhere where the staff have made so much effort to make sure that you have a lovely stay. Everyone was incredibly nice from reception staff to waiters, cleaners and the guy at the beach towel hut. Our room was so comfortable. We had such a lovely stay. Location is great for a relaxing holiday. A lovely beach although pebble with free sun beds for hotel guests and beautiful sea for swimming in alongside so many swimming pools. Breakfast buffet was amazing. My mother and I went for a week and we are both quite active. My mum enjoyed the classes and I liked running along the beautiful track behind the beach. We also did some walking to the nearby town of haraki which has some lovely restaurants along the beach and is just over an hour walk along the long beach in front of the hotel. We also went for a nice hike in the mountain behind Lindos. There are also a number of very good tavernas near the hotel if you prefer not to eat in the hotel. Would come back with my mum.

  From check-in to check-out, everything is top-class. The staff is professional and truly committed to making you feel comfortable. Superb breakfast with abundant high-quality local and international dishes, including a large dessert buffet, all served in an elegant and relaxing atmosphere. Amazing facilities with plenty of options for swimming, relaxing and playing. Excellent shows, live music and great cocktails in the evenings. Spacious and luxurious rooms. Perfect location. We hugely enjoyed our stay despite a couple of cold and rainy days. Cannot wait to go back.
  
  What could be improved: Because of the bad weather, we got free access to the spa, with an indoor pool and sauna (Thanks!). Unfortunately, the water was still cold, and kids were not allowed in the sauna, so we only stayed there for a few minutes. Having sauna possibilities for the whole family would have been a big plus.

  Our stay here was absolutely fantastic!
  The entire staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. The maintenance is impeccable, and they pay attention to even the smallest details.
  The pool and private beach are amazing, and the food is excellent. Their app is great—it allows you to do everything, from ordering cocktails to your sunbed to asking the reception a question.
  
  Everything is so easy and convenient, making it effortless to just relax and enjoy.
  The magical gardens add an extra touch of beauty, making it a delight to simply walk around the property and take in the serene surroundings.
  The room with the private pool is incredible, and in general the place is very family- and kid-friendly.
  We can’t wait to be back again!
  
  What could be improved: The only aspect we found a bit uncomfortable was the temperature in the dining room during dinner. For some reason, it was warmer than we expected, which was surprising given how meticulous everything else was.
  
  It didn’t seem to bother others, so it might just be us, but after a long day in the sun, we really appreciate a cool environment when having dinner and drinks.
