Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Atlantica Aegean Blue? It’s actually set back from Kolimbia’s main strip just enough that you get this sense of escape without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. I mean, you can still walk to the village center in maybe ten minutes, but when you’re lounging by their pools, you’re not hearing scooters puttering by every five seconds.

The whole place has this sort of upscale-but-not-stuffy vibe that I honestly wasn’t expecting from a five-star resort on Rhodes. The lobby’s got these gorgeous marble floors that stay cool even in the afternoon heat – which, trust me, matters when you’re coming back from the beach in July. Speaking of the beach, here’s something most people don’t realize: Kolimbia’s got one of the better stretches of sand on this part of the island, and the hotel’s beach setup is actually really well thought out. They’ve got proper umbrellas (not those flimsy things that flip in the wind) and the beach bar doesn’t blast music like some places do. The water here stays relatively calm too, since you’re tucked into this little bay.

What really sets this place apart though – and I’ve stayed at quite a few hotels around the Dodecanese – is how they handle the details. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping into your suitcase every time you turn around, and they’ve actually got proper blackout curtains, which is rare. The air conditioning works without sounding like a jet engine, the WiFi reaches the balconies (seriously, why is this so hard for some hotels?), and housekeeping doesn’t bang on your door at 8 AM. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, they had good recommendations for dinner spots in Lindos, and when we needed extra towels for the beach, nobody acted like we were asking for the moon. The on-site restaurants are solid, though honestly, you’ll want to venture into Kolimbia village at least once for dinner at one of those family tavernas near the square. The hotel’s location makes it easy to explore other parts of Rhodes too – you’re about 25 minutes from Lindos (go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds), and Rhodes Town is maybe 45 minutes if you rent a car. Parking at the hotel is straightforward, which isn’t always a given in Greece. That 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that gets the big things right and doesn’t stumble on the small ones either.

  the hotel is very well maintained, very beautiful with lots of beautiful pools, many sunbeds aroun the pools/ the waterpark looked great although we didnt really use is because my kids were to young to enjoy it. the minimum height to use the big slides needs to be above 1.20 cm.
  the room was beautiful and super clean and the staff was always siling and trying to help.
  
  What could be improved: the food didnt really mach my expectations maybe because most of the meat was pork.

  Food was good. Dinner at buffet exceeded our expectations as generally they can be hit and miss in all inclusive hotels. Facilities were excellent and our kids enjoyed the waterpark and various pools. The hotel didn’t feel overcrowded which was nice also.
  
  What could be improved: I didn’t like the fact that there was no partition between the bathroom and bedroom in the family bedrooms.

  Great resort for families! The hotel was very clean and beautiful, the staff (all of them) were extremely nice! They helped us with everything request.
  You can choose one restaurant if staying for a few days, the Italian restaurant was amazing and the food was very good compared to the dining room. There are many pools and a lot of space for everyone.
  
  What could be improved: I think the main issue for me was that they didn’t heat up the pools at all. We arrived at the beginning of June, it was hot outside but the pools were freezing and we couldn’t get in not even once during our stay.
  Also, one night it was raining, and it seems that the hotel is not equipped for that – they are closing everything and moved the evening event to the lobby which was small for the amount of people.
  Overall, I would not recommend arriving before it’s July- August.
  
  The food in the dining room was not amazing during launch and dinner, if you are vegetarian you don’t have many options (most night the vegan sections mostly included just vegetables… )
  It is important to say that the staff try to assist me every night with making sure I have vegan options which I really appreciated.

  Everything! All the little nice touches, everything high quality. So clean (I'm very fussy!). Yummy food, loads of choice, even for a veggie. Drinks are amazing!! Stunning views and location. The most friendly staff I've come across, everyone so helpful and welcoming. First time in 5 start hotel that is for families as came for a wedding but it's such a big space it really didn't feel like it. So many pools so lots of options, and a small free water park next door too. Everything is so well thought out. Had the most wonderful stay here

  The rooms are beautiful, I like the layout for the family room which leaves some privacy if you close the door to the child area. Initial room had an odd view of a patch of land not owned by the hotel but the hotel moved us on request with no issue. If you like afternoon sun I would recommend the sea view rooms facing the mountain which is a lovely view.
  
  The hotel is very clean and the staff are lovely. The buffet dinner was tasty although not much of an occasion meal. The a la carte are beautiful but open to the weather.
  
  The beach is not great – it isn’t run by the hotel but worth knowing if you want a lovely beach. There is a very nice beach 5 mins drive away (over one hour on foot due to mountain).
  
  The pools are very cold in April and more for a splash than a swim, a very small pool is slightly heated but still too cold for my kids. The water park is fantastic the kids loved it and so did I.
  
  The hotel is very busy in holiday times so there were occasionally long queues for ice cream or dinner.
  
  Overall a lovely hotel with some great elements and some downsides depending on your priorities.
