Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The property sits in this quiet residential area that feels authentically Greek, not touristy at all. You know what struck me immediately? The attention to detail in the landscaping and how everything felt so thoughtfully designed, even though this isn’t technically a star-rated property in the traditional sense.

Location & Neighborhood

Afandou is one of those Rhodes gems that most tourists rush past on their way to more famous spots, but that’s actually what makes it perfect. The village has this laid-back vibe where you’ll see locals going about their daily business — there’s a genuine bakery down the road where I grabbed fresh bread every morning. The beach is just a short walk away, and it’s the kind of pebbled stretch where you can actually find a quiet spot even in summer. What I really appreciated was having free parking right on site, which is honestly a godsend when you’re exploring the island by car.

The Villas

Each villa feels like your own private retreat, which explains why couples rate this place so highly. I mean, the space you get is incredible — full kitchens, separate living areas, and these gorgeous terraces that overlook the surrounding hills. The interiors blend modern comfort with traditional Greek touches, though not in that heavy-handed way some places do. Everything actually works properly too, from the air conditioning to the WiFi, which isn’t always a given in more remote locations like this.

Pool & Relaxation

The swimming pool area is where I spent most of my downtime, and it’s designed with privacy in mind. Unlike those massive resort pools where you’re fighting for space, this feels intimate and peaceful. The water’s kept immaculately clean, and there are enough loungers that you’re not scrambling to claim one at dawn. I loved how quiet it gets in the evenings — just the sound of cicadas and maybe some distant conversation from other guests. It’s the kind of place where you can actually read a book without distractions.

Look, Athoros Upscale Villas isn’t trying to be a flashy resort with endless amenities, and that’s exactly why it works so well. The recent guest rating of 9.4 for location tells you everything — people come here and immediately get it. You’re close enough to explore Rhodes’ attractions but far enough away to feel like you’ve escaped the crowds. The staff genuinely cares about your experience without being intrusive, and the whole setup just makes sense for couples or anyone wanting a more authentic Greek island experience. It’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself recommending to friends who ask about “real” Greece.

  Wir hatten eine sehr entspannte Woche in dieser neuen, modernen, geschmackvollen und großzügigen Villa. Man hat von der am Hügel liegenden Unterkunft einen hervorragenden Blick auf Ort und Meer. Bei dem Komfort und der Ruhe ohne direkte Nachbarn kann man perfekt relaxen. Antonio ist ein sehr angenehmer und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber.

  Wir waren die ersten Urlauber in der Villa Dawn. Es ist eine traumhafte Unterkunft, sie hat all unsere Erwartungen erfüllt – stilvoll eingerichtet, sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail.
  Der Pool war ein absolute Highlight, perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Lage war ruhig und idyllisch. Zum Strand ist man 3-4 Minuten mit dem Auto gefahren, nach Faliraki ca. 10 Minuten, nach Rhodos und Lindos ca. 25-30 Minuten.
  
  Unser Gastgeber Antonis war sehr herzlich, freundlich und unkompliziert. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt und kommen garantiert wieder. Die Häuser sind eine absolute Empfehlung unserer Seits.
