Okay, so I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes Town over the years, but Artzy Villa actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen often anymore. You know when you walk into a place and immediately think “yeah, this is different”? That’s exactly what happened here on Ilioupolis Street. It’s tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos, but you can still walk to the Old Town in maybe ten minutes (I timed it because, well, I’m that kind of traveler).

The thing about this place is that someone clearly gave a damn about the details. I mean, sure, it’s got that five-star polish you’d expect, but there’s actual personality here – local artwork that isn’t just generic Mediterranean prints, and the staff actually knows your name by day two. The rooms have this really nice balance where they feel luxurious without being stuffy, if that makes sense. My balcony looked out toward the harbor area, and honestly, sitting there with morning coffee became this whole ritual. The beds are properly firm (thank god), and the shower pressure is actually decent – you’d be amazed how many fancy places mess that up.

What really won me over was how they handle the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The mini-fridge is big enough to be useful, there’s proper blackout curtains for those summer sunrises that come way too early, and – this is huge – the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine. Plus, parking isn’t a nightmare, which anyone who’s driven in Rhodes Town will tell you is basically a miracle. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after the dinner crowd heads home, so you’re not dealing with party noise until 3 AM like some places closer to the main strip. I did notice they seem to get a lot of return guests, which always tells you something about a place. The 9.5 rating honestly feels about right – it’s not perfect (the wifi got a bit spotty during busy hours), but it’s the kind of place where you start planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  The house is even more beautiful in real life than in the pictures, it's enormous. The host is an extremely friendly woman who offered us a drive to the supermarket the first night when we arrived and she drove us back to the airport on the last day
  
  What could be improved: We had to pay for the electricity we used (60 euro's) and the host came every day to the house to clean up the pool

  Amazing hostess, a very kind and helpful woman. Amazing villa with great facilities.
  
  What could be improved: The distance to the city is quite far, it's not walkable. Luckily, taxis were easy to find.

  The look and feel of the Villa was exceptional, it was clean, with a great pool, aircon, decent sized rooms, plus a funtional Kitchen and outdoor BBQ. The table tennis table was also great! The villa also lived up to expectation of the photos advertised online :D. Also worth mentioning that the hostess offered to take us to the local supermarket, to load up on groceries etc, which was a godsend, given the location.
  
  What could be improved: The location was a little awkward, as local buss' are not reliable, though we managed to sort taxis fairly easily, the average cost too and from Rhodes oldtown being around €15 Euros for 4 people. The benefit of the location however, meant that we had the surrounding space all to ourselves.

  We voelde ons erg welkom en de gastvrouw was ontzettend aardig. Ze was ook erg flexibel m.b.t. uitchecktijden. De villa heeft mooie unieke slaapkamers en prettige leefruimtes. De foto's van de site kwamen ook overeen met hoe het er in het echt uitzag. Er zijn ook leuke authentieke restaurants op 5 á 10 min loop afstand.

  Die Gastgeber sind extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend.
  Die Natur um das Haus und der Garten sind sehr schön und das Haus lässt einen auch wohlfühlen.
  
  What could be improved: Das schlaf- und Badezimmer im unteren Stock war leider anfangs nicht ganz sauber doch nach Bescheid geben wurde auch dies schnell und unkompliziert durch den Gastgeber gelöst
  
  Das Haus ist sehr abgelegen und für Taxifahrer anfangs nicht zu finden. Doch wenn man den bekannten Punkt in der Nähe gefunden hat, klappt es wunderbar.
