You know what really gets me? When a place calls itself “traditional” and it’s actually just old furniture thrown into a modern box. But this 250-year-old house in Koskinou – honestly, it’s the real deal. The moment you walk through that weathered wooden door, you can feel the history in the walls. I mean, the stone is worn smooth in spots where countless hands have touched it, and there’s this earthy smell that only comes from centuries of life being lived in a space.

Koskinou itself is one of those villages that tourists rush past on their way to Rhodes town, which is honestly their loss. The Επαρχιακή Οδός can get a bit busy during the day (it’s the main road through the village), but by evening it settles into this peaceful rhythm where you’ll hear more roosters than cars. The house sits perfectly positioned – close enough to the traditional square that you can pop over for coffee at the local kafeneio, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with any street noise at night. Parking is actually straightforward here, which surprised me since most historic places make you haul your luggage half a mile.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve preserved the original character without making you feel like you’re camping in a museum. The thick stone walls keep everything naturally cool (trust me, you’ll appreciate this in July), and the traditional architectural details – like the way the light filters through those small windows – create this constantly changing atmosphere throughout the day. The owner clearly knows their stuff when it comes to restoration; everything feels authentic but functional. I loved the little courtyard area where you can sit with morning coffee and actually hear the village waking up around you. The check-in was refreshingly personal too – none of that sterile hotel lobby experience. Instead, you get someone who actually cares about the place showing you around, pointing out quirks like which door handle needs a gentle touch and where the best sunset views are from. It’s got that perfect 10 rating for good reason – this isn’t just accommodation, it’s like staying in a piece of living Greek history that happens to be incredibly comfortable.

  This is a beautiful, unique house, fully equipped and perfectly clean with a welcoming and helpful host. Koskinou is a pretty village with a good location for accessing Rhodes town, the beach and the main routes round the island.

  Alida the host was so lovely from the first day. She helped us throughout our stay and was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The house is an amazing and authentic space set in charming old cobbled streets. Lots of room, great architecture, great facilities. The roof terrace was beautiful to sit and watch the sun set. The location in Koskinou was excellent, close to everything but still felt authentic and charming. All the local businesses in the village were welcoming and friendly, restaurants, cafes, car hire and taxis were all brilliant. We couldn't have been happier with our stay, we will absolutely be coming back and recommending this house and Alida to anyone wanting to go to Rhodes.

  Φανταστικό το σπίτι, τρομερή αισθητική και απίστευτα άνετο κατά τη διαμονή! Εξαιρετική η οικοδεσποινα! Η τοποθεσία είναι πολύ βολική τόσο για την επίσκεψη σε παραλίες αλλά και για την πόλη της Ρόδου! Το σπίτι είναι ιδανικό τόσο για οικογένειες όσο και για μεγάλες παρέες, έχει πολλούς ανεξάρτητους χώρους!
