You know what struck me first about Aramis Boutique House? It’s tucked away on Diokleous Street in a way that feels intentional – like someone actually thought about creating a peaceful spot in the middle of Rhodes Old Town’s beautiful chaos. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the main tourist drag with all the souvenir shops and tavernas, but somehow this little street maintains this almost residential calm that’s pretty rare in the medieval quarter.

The building itself has that perfect balance of historic character without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. The rooms have these lovely high ceilings and original stone details, but honestly, what I appreciated most was that everything just works properly – the air conditioning actually cools the room (crucial in Greek summers), the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the bathrooms are genuinely modern without looking out of place. The staff clearly knows their stuff too; they gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t the obvious tourist traps, including this incredible little place near Mandraki Harbor that I never would have found otherwise. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no weird policies or surprise fees that seem to pop up everywhere these days.

What really sets this place apart, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to walk to the Palace of the Grand Master in about eight minutes, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the quieter corners of the Old Town that most people miss entirely. I loved starting my mornings early – around 7 AM before the cruise ship crowds arrive – and just wandering the cobblestone streets with a coffee from the little café around the corner. The location means you can easily duck back to your room during the afternoon heat (and trust me, you’ll want to in July), then head out again for dinner when the evening breeze picks up. Parking can be a bit tricky since you’re inside the medieval walls, but the hotel staff helped coordinate with a nearby lot, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. The whole Old Town is walkable, and the New Town with its beaches and modern restaurants is just a pleasant fifteen-minute stroll past the harbor. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that gets the important things right without trying to be flashy about it.

  Fabulous little cottage, which was extremely well decorated and clean and tidy. Bottle of wine left on arrival, nice. Lovely gardens with fruit trees, chairs, table and loungers. Comfortable lounge area, bedrooms roomy with comfortable beds and air conditioning. Kitchen well equipped with table and chairs. Owner met us at one of the walled gates. Property in centre of old walled town surrounded by ruins which made it more special. Would love to have taken the cottage with us. Home from home!

  The house is just lovely and in such a fantastic location (on a quiet road, but just moments from the centre). The facilities were good and the garden was such a bonus. The rooms were very comfortable and both Maria (owner) and Maria (who met us) were very friendly and helpful. would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking to explore Rhodes Old Town.
  
  What could be improved: Having a glass front door and glass bedroom doors did mean it was difficult to get the twin bedroom dark (as there is a street lamp outside). TV channel all seemed to be in German which we don’t speak – but there’s so much else to do, this isn’t really a problem (we only put it on one evening when it was raining). Some people might be bothered by the many cats that visit (we quite liked it) – but then if you really don’t like cats, Rhodes Old Town might not be for you!

  Beautiful house and private garden with great location. Quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean and the villa comfortable. Good air conditioning. Fairly good beds (1 double, 2 single beds and more available).
  
  A lot of excellent restaurants just around the corner. This villa is an ideal base for exploring the old town Rhodes. Not too long walk to Elli Beach.
  
  We had breakfast outside in the garden every morning, but when eating outside do remember to look out for the cats. Our kids just loved them.
  
  What could be improved: Although our host Maria seemed very nice there was some delays in answering the messages. The other Maria, who was at the Kolona Gate to meet us, did not speak too much English, but we managed to sort everything out after all.

  The locations couldn’t have been more perfect for exploring the old town and seeing the sights.
  The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was a great size.
  The garden was perfect for sitting out not matter the time of day and it was never very noisy.

  Beautiful house and garden, quiet and peaceful in heart of old town. Rhodes town is one of the best places I have visited and being able to stay in such lovely accomodation so close was a pleasure. Nearby restaurants we liked Dafni and Nomad..both required reservations. Marco Polo also looked good but was booked for the week already. We swam at all 3 beaches you can walk to, Elli beach is the best and furthest. It's mobbed and some of the lounger prices are high. We paid 30euro half way down beach. Near initial bar it was 50 for 2 ! Other beaches are just small strips of sand near ferry port but nice for a quick dip and snorkel. 2 parasols at house were a nice touch.
  
  What could be improved: Internet didn't work despite rebooting router. Keys were a bit tricky and was worried would snap key in lock. Also arrangements to meet at main gate didn't work as we said we arrive at 12 but somehow they thought 1 so we waited 30 mins before finding house ourselves. Phone sat nav worked surprisingly well. If you don't like cats don't go..though it's fun to watch kittens chase lizards around the garden. Parking hire car on last day was a pain..only locals can drive into old town
