You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes over the years, and Apollo Blue honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When you first walk up from Main Street in Faliraki, it doesn’t scream “luxury hotel” from the outside, but step into that lobby and you immediately get it. The marble floors have this cool, almost temple-like feel (fitting for a place called Apollo, I guess), and there’s this subtle scent of jasmine that somehow doesn’t feel artificial like it does in most hotels.

The thing about Faliraki is that most people think it’s just party central – and yeah, the strip gets absolutely wild during summer nights – but Apollo Blue sits just far enough from the chaos that you can actually sleep. I mean, you’ll still hear some distant music if you’re a light sleeper, but it’s more like a gentle reminder that you’re somewhere fun rather than feeling like you’re trying to sleep inside a nightclub. The rooms themselves are genuinely impressive; I had one facing the garden side (definitely request that if you can), and the balcony was perfect for morning coffee before the heat really kicks in. The air conditioning actually works properly too, which… honestly, you can’t take for granted everywhere in Greece.

What really sets this place apart though is how the staff seems to genuinely know the area. The concierge – I think his name was Dimitris – didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map. He actually drew little notes showing me which tavernas the locals eat at (there’s this incredible place called Manolis about ten minutes walk toward the old town that I never would have found otherwise), and he was spot-on about timing for the beach. Faliraki Beach gets packed by 11 AM in summer, but if you head down around 8:30, you’ve got your pick of spots and the water’s perfect. The hotel’s pool area is beautiful too – they’ve got these olive trees that provide natural shade, so you’re not just baking in direct sun all day. I actually preferred it to the beach some days, especially when the afternoon winds picked up. Check-in was smooth, parking was easy (they’ve got their own lot, which is huge because street parking in Faliraki is basically a contact sport), and the whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of just what looks good in photos.

  Great hotel, the staff was amazing and made us feel like home. The food was very good, every day fresh and different choice. Swimming pool was really big and the beach super close to the hotel. They also offer free of charge yoga and pilates classes that were amazing!

  Beautiful communal areas and pool. Well
  looked after. Direct access to the beach and a short 10 min walk to shops and restaurants. Close to bus stop. Comfy beds and a quiet room.
  
  What could be improved: Air con was not the best. More like a fan. We visited 30th April til 5th May so luckily it was not baking hot to need it.

  The hotel staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and always smiling! We spent a long week where we felt like home! The room was comfortable, and plenty of activities were going on. I strongly recommend it without hesitation!

  Wonderful hotel. The weather wasn’t great in April- it rained 3 out of 5 days. Rent a car, public transport is sketchy. Taxis are expensive!

  What could be improved: Cleaners are very noisy in the corridor in the morning, so if you want a lay in and put do not disturb on the door, it makes no difference as they are so loud cleaning the other rooms that you can’t sleep anyway. I am talking about 8:30am, so not late.
