You know what caught me off guard about Annie’s Apartment? I was expecting some basic accommodation in Ialyssos, but this place actually feels like staying at a friend’s really well-appointed flat – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and lived three minutes from one of Rhodes’ better beaches.

The location on 9ης Μαΐου street is honestly perfect for what most people want from a Greek island stay. You’re close enough to hear the gentle hum of Ialyssos village life (the local bakery opens around 7 AM, and trust me, you’ll want to be awake for those fresh tyropita), but far enough from the main tourist strips that you won’t be dealing with late-night bar crowds stumbling past your window. I mean, it’s a 4-star place with a 9.8 rating for good reason – Annie clearly knows what she’s doing. The apartment itself feels more spacious than you’d expect, and there’s something about the way the morning light filters through the windows that makes you want to linger over your coffee instead of rushing out to sightsee.

What really sells this place, though, is how Annie manages to make everything feel effortless without being impersonal. Check-in was smooth (she actually met me there personally, which almost never happens anymore), parking wasn’t the usual Greek island nightmare – there’s space nearby, which anyone who’s tried to park in old town Rhodes will appreciate. The kitchen is properly equipped too, not just the token mini-fridge and hot plate you usually get. I ended up cooking a few meals because the local market on the corner has these incredible tomatoes and the fishmonger down the street… well, let’s just say the red mullet was speaking to me. The whole area feels authentically Greek without being touristy – you’ll see more locals on their evening volta than cruise ship day-trippers. And honestly? When you’re this close to Filerimos Hill (you can walk there in about fifteen minutes), you’d be crazy not to catch at least one sunset from up there. The beach situation is solid too – Ialyssos beach is literally a five-minute stroll, and while it gets busy during peak season, early mornings are pretty magical with just the locals doing their swimming.

  Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, und alles war so, wir es von den Bildern und Beschreibungen erwartet haben. Praktisch war die Bushaltestelle quasi direkt vor der Tür.
  
  What could be improved: Die Lage nahe der Hauptstraße, was aber bei geschlossenen Fenstern kein Problem ist. Die Geräusche waren nicht so schlimm, dass uns das auf der Terrasse sehr gestört hätte.
