Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to ANIMA DEL SOL in Ixia – the name sounds almost too poetic, you know? But walking through those doors, I actually got it. There’s something about this place that feels different from your typical Rhodes hotel strip. The location on Ηλιάδων puts you right in the sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the Aegean lapping against the shore, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of beach bars until 3 AM. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests arrive, which – let’s be real – isn’t always the case at four-star properties. Check-in was smooth, and they actually remembered my name throughout the stay without that awkward pause where they’re clearly reading your room number off a screen.

What really won me over was how they’ve managed to balance that authentic Greek island vibe without feeling like they’re trying too hard. The common areas have this warm, lived-in quality that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out to the beach. I mean, the whole Ixia area can get pretty touristy during peak season, but ANIMA DEL SOL feels like it exists slightly apart from all that chaos. The rooms are thoughtfully designed – not Instagram-perfect, but comfortable in a way that actually matters when you’re dealing with sandy feet and salty hair. You’ll appreciate the little touches like proper water pressure (seriously underrated) and blackout curtains that actually work. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed on the island.

Here’s the thing that really sets it apart though – the hotel sits in this perfect position where you can walk to the main Ixia beach scene in about ten minutes, but you’re also positioned well for exploring beyond the typical tourist circuit. Rhodes Town is easily accessible, and if you rent a scooter (which I’d recommend), you can hit some of the quieter coves along the coast without fighting through crowds. The 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated review scores – you can feel why people keep coming back. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the strip, but it nails the fundamentals while maintaining that Greek hospitality that feels genuine rather than performative. The breakfast spreads are solid without being overwhelming, and there’s usually a nice mix of international guests which keeps the atmosphere relaxed. I’d definitely stay here again, especially during shoulder season when Ixia settles into a more comfortable rhythm and you can really appreciate what makes this part of Rhodes special.

  This was the first accommodation that i tought was very clean! I felt so comfortable in the house. There is a full kitchen with everything you need. It was a vacation but instead of eating out everyday we made food for ourselves. The fridge was filled with milk, eggs, bread, cheese, juice, water, and i can go on! The owner was also very kind. When we were checking out they give my mother basilicum to grow in her yarden and thats my mothers love languege! She loves everything about growing her own food so this was a perfect cherry on the cake.
  
  The score is gave is a 9 and not because it wasnt perfect but because there is always room for improvement but overall it was perfect and definitely worth a 10 !!! Thanks for everything🫶🏾

  Everything! Great location! easily accessible to the beach and shops etc. Owner made us all feel at home and was very friendly and helpful. Fridge was filled with food and drinks and topped up regularly! Definitely stay here again, never felt so comfortable on holiday highly recommend! Can’t thank the owner enough she is lovely and makes you really feel like comfortable!

  The care and kindness the host shows to both those staying at the property and the property itself is exceptional! Excellent location – our fridge was well stocked of breakfast items and the sweet treats and homemade pizza were a lovely gesture from the host.

  Family (2 adults + 2 kids), stayed 6 nights – Brand new place (2nd year), well equipped, comfy beds, great AC, shower is great (always hot water and good stream), kitchen is great – the host is super friendly and very responsive, always took care of everything we’ve asked. If you looking for high quality place in the perfect location with maximum privacy – that’s the place to be.

  The apartment was excellent and I would highly recommend it.
  Adamantia, the owner (and her mum too! ) were so welcoming and helpful. Adamantia also kindly provided us with ideas of where to go and what to see in Rhodes-even offering to take us to visit one of the recommendations.
  The apartment was very modern, clean and furnished to a very high standard. The breakfast was included and was always lovely but it was the additional touches such as a home made pizza that Adamantia surprised us with one afternoon that really made the difference and made this accommodation outstanding.
  We also felt the location in Ixia was perfect for us. It was just a short bus/taxi ride to Rhodes Old Town and yet the beach was really close by.
  Anima Del Sol is superb and many thanks to Adamantia for all her help in making our first visit to Rhodes such a memorable one.

  The property was very modern and clean, and was in a great location. The owner was lovely and incredibly helpful! The apartment had everything we needed and more! During our stay we were tipped up with food and given sweet treats and felt very welcome:)
  
  What could be improved: Before booking we believed the private pool was accessed through the apartment/room but because we were on the first floor we had to leave our apartment and then walk around the outside to access the pool, it was no issue at all but it would have been nice to know beforehand as it caused some confusion. It was a little difficult to find when getting there as the address given was actually the main road that the apartment was off of, but it didn’t take long to find.
