You know what struck me most about Anemos Villa Stegna? It’s one of those places where the owners actually get it – they understand that travelers want to feel like they’ve discovered something special, not just booked another cookie-cutter hotel room. Tucked into the hillside above Stegna Beach (and I mean literally a few minutes’ walk down to that gorgeous stretch of sand), this place has this relaxed, authentic Greek island vibe that’s getting harder and harder to find these days.

The villa itself feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than a hotel – there’s this wonderful mix of traditional Dodecanese architecture with just enough modern touches to keep you comfortable. The rooms are spacious, honestly bigger than I expected, and most have these fantastic terraces where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the fishing boats head out from Stegna’s little harbor. The attention to detail is what gets me though – hand-painted ceramics, locally-sourced linens, that kind of thing. And the wifi actually works well, which I mention because, let’s be real, even on a Greek island getaway you sometimes need to check in with the real world.

What really sets this place apart is its location in the village itself. Stegna isn’t one of those tourist traps – it’s still very much a working fishing village, especially in the shoulder seasons. You’ll hear the boats coming in early morning, smell fresh bread from the local bakery, and the family-run tavernas nearby serve some of the best seafood I’ve had anywhere on Rhodes (try Dimitris’ place right on the beach – the grilled octopus is incredible). The owners, Maria and Kostas, seem to know everyone in town and they’re genuinely helpful about pointing you toward the good stuff – the hiking trail up to Tsambika Monastery, the little cove about ten minutes south where hardly any tourists go, that sort of local knowledge you can’t get from guidebooks. Parking is easy too, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands will appreciate. I mean, you’re about 30 minutes from Rhodes Town if you want the nightlife and shopping, but honestly, after a day or two here, you might not want to leave Stegna at all.

  Die Unterkunft ist groß, toll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Die Terasse und auch das Grundstück inklusive Parkplatz bieten viel Platz zum frühstücken und zum entspannen. Der Ausblick auf das Meer ist aus dem Bett herraus einfach herrlich. Der Vermieter ist ein cooler Typ und erklärt alles ausführlich.

  Antonis was an excellent host. The property was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Very relaxing after a hard day at the beach. All amenities you could possibly need and a lovely welcoming and thoughtful gift on arrival. Would highly recommend.

  Die Unterkunft hatte eine sehr gute Lage! Der Strand "Stegna Beach" war unmittelbar in der Nähe (2 Minuten zu Fuß). Auch Liegen waren ausreichend vorhanden € 10,– pro Schirm und 2 Liegen. Der Strand war sehr sauber, das Wasser türkisblau. Wir hatten ein Leihauto – so konnte man auch Ausflüge zu anderen Sträden fahren. Gleich in der Nähe war "Grande Blue" – ein Strand mit Kies und Steinen, dieser Strand hatte auch Höhlen zum Schnocheln – einfach toll! Bei der Ankunft war der Kühlschrank mit Butter, Wasser, Getränken bestückt. Marmelade, Honig, Kaffeekapseln und Kekse sogar "VEGAN" war ausreichend vorhanden.

  Wunderschönes Haus, super ausgestattet und in super Lage. Der Gastgeber sehr freundlich und bemüht. Die Bucht von Stegna ruhig und sehr schön. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es war richtig schöner Urlaub!

  Ein tolles Ferienhaus, das keine Wünsche offen lässt! Mit zwei vollständigen Bädern, einer voll ausgestatteten Küche und einem Starter Set an Verpflegung haben wir uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Es lag keine 3 min fußläufig zum Strand, an dem man immer einen Platz gefunden hat. Auch wenn das Ferienhaus mitten im Geschehen lag, war es trotzdem ruhig und man konnte die Abende mit Blick aufs Meer ausklingen lassen.
  Besonders toll auch der große Hof, auf dem man nicht nur parken, sondern auch sitzen konnte und auf dem die Kinder auch spielen konnten.
