You know what struck me first about Anemos Traditional Villa? It’s actually tucked right on Central Street in Archangelos, but somehow it feels like you’ve stepped into this quiet pocket of old Greece that tourism hasn’t completely swallowed up yet. I mean, Archangelos isn’t exactly Rhodes Town with all the cruise ship crowds – it’s more like where locals still go about their daily business, and you get to be part of that rhythm.

The villa itself is honestly one of those places that makes you understand why people fall in love with Greek island architecture. We’re talking thick stone walls that keep things genuinely cool even when it’s blazing outside (and trust me, it gets blazing), plus these little courtyards where you can actually hear the evening conversations from neighboring houses drifting over. The owners clearly know what they’re doing – everything feels authentic without being stuck in a time warp, if that makes sense. The rooms have this perfect balance of traditional touches and modern comfort, though I’ll be honest, the shower pressure could be stronger (but hey, that’s pretty standard for older buildings in Greece). What really got me was the attention to small details – fresh herbs growing right outside the kitchen, local ceramics that aren’t just for show, and this incredible terrace where you can see clear to the coast on good days.

Here’s the thing about staying in Archangelos though – you’re about a fifteen-minute drive from some of the best beaches on Rhodes, but you’re also walking distance from that little bakery that opens at dawn and fills the whole street with the smell of fresh bread. The location is actually perfect for people who want to explore the island without dealing with resort crowds every single day. Parking is surprisingly easy (unlike in Rhodes Old Town where it’s basically impossible), and the owners are the kind of people who’ll draw you a hand-sketched map to their favorite taverna that doesn’t even have a sign. I stayed here in late September when things were quieting down but still warm, and honestly, those evening walks through the village when everyone’s out watering their plants and chatting with neighbors – that’s the Greece you can’t get from a guidebook. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there, because it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, it’s just doing everything really, really well.

  Best location to visit Rodos all around, get to the great beaches and walk to the supermarket or dinner in the evening. The place itself is like a museum you get to live in.

  Everything was great about the house: clean, spacious, a lot of light (as seen on the picture), everything you could need was there even some basic food like sugar, salt, olive oil etc. which is pretty rare in my experience. It’s an amazing combination of authentic feel and modern comfort ))))
  
  What could be improved: I can’t say „I didn’t like“ it, just nearest beach is 45 minutes walk (or 5 mins drive), so would need a car or scooter. But that was clear from the beginning. However , some other great beaches (Pefkos, Lindos) are accessible by bus. so it’s just a trade off – living in the middle of a small village where you have everything or on the beach with a few restaurants and shops.

  Super schön renoviertes altes Gebäude. tolle Terrasse. In einer ruhigen Seitenstraße. Küche ist voll ausgestattet. Toaster, Sandwichmaker, elektrische Saftpresse, Knoblauchpresse etc… Waschmaschine gibt es auch.
  Heizung, Klima, was will man mehr.
  einzig zu beachten, es gibt keine Fenster. Lüftung durch Türen offen lassen. Für Tageslicht ist durch ein Oberlicht gesorgt. Wer nicht mehr so gut zu Fuß ist wird eventuell ein Problem mit dem Bett auf der Empore haben. Treppen hoch und dann eine ebenerdige Matratze. Aber erstaunlich bequem. Kohlegrill auf der Terrasse gibt es auch. inklusive Sonnenschirme für den Strand. wir hatten eine schöne Zeit.
  Archangelo ist zwar ein Dorf aber man findet alles was man braucht. große Auswahl an Restaurants und ein super toller Fischhändler der einem auch zum Mittagessen den Fisch frisch zubereitet. netter Vermieter der auch ein tolles Restaurant hat. Lohnt sich hinzugehen. wenig Touristen (zumindest Anfang Oktober). Strände in unmittelbarer Nähe.
  wir hatten ein Auto und würden das auch empfehlen. Parkplatz direkt am Haus.

  What could be improved: Jediný problém byl, že ubytování nebylo označené, sami jsme nemohli najít, ale bylo to proto, že jsme přijeli pozdě a majitel byl v práci
