Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Rhodes Old Town over the years, and honestly, most of them feel like they’re trying too hard to be something they’re not. But Anemoessa Mansion? This place actually gets it right. It’s tucked away in the maze of cobblestone streets – you know, the kind where you’ll definitely get lost at least once trying to find it the first time – but that’s sort of the point. The building itself has this weathered stone facade that’s clearly been around for centuries, and when you walk through those heavy wooden doors, there’s this immediate sense of stepping back in time without feeling like you’re in some cheesy theme park.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to keep the old-world charm without sacrificing the stuff you actually need. I mean, the rooms have proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll want this in July), decent WiFi, and bathrooms that don’t require an engineering degree to operate. The floors are these gorgeous old tiles that are cool under your feet during the day, and the walls are thick enough that you can’t hear your neighbors – which is more than I can say for most places in the Old Town. The owner, Maria, actually lives nearby and you’ll probably run into her in the morning; she’s one of those people who knows everything about Rhodes and isn’t shy about sharing restaurant recommendations. She steered me away from the tourist traps on Socratous Street and pointed me toward this tiny taverna near Plateia Arionos where the locals actually eat.

Here’s the thing about staying inside the medieval walls – and this is something you won’t realize until you’re actually doing it – the whole area transforms at night. During the day it’s packed with cruise ship crowds and tour groups, but once the sun sets and the day-trippers head back to their ships, it becomes this incredibly peaceful place. You can walk to the Palace of the Grand Masters in about five minutes, or down to Mandraki Harbor in ten, but honestly some of my best memories were just wandering the narrow alleys at night, listening to the sounds of families having dinner drifting from apartment windows above. The hotel doesn’t have a pool or a fancy restaurant, but you’re literally surrounded by centuries of history and some of the best food in Greece. There’s a small café right around the corner that does amazing bougatsa for breakfast, and the fish market down by the harbor is worth getting up early for. Just be prepared for the bells from Agios Fanourios church – they ring every hour, but after a day or two it becomes part of the charm rather than an annoyance.

  More spacious than photos suggested. Good amount of beds. Basic cleaning equipment available in the house for convenience. Away from most of the noise of the main street though only a two minute walk away. Some mild noise at weekends with later bars though not really noticeable. Excellent stay

  The apartment was beautiful, spacious and clean, it had all the necessities. We had a welcome pack with snacks, fruit and drinks which was much appreciated after travelling with kids. The old town is beautiful and felt like stepping back in time. The hostess was welcoming and helpful and the communication was efficient.
  
  What could be improved: The noise at night was unbearable especially during the weekend. There's a club or bar too close to the apartment and the music blasts all night long till 4/5am it's was horrendous. I understand this is no fault of the owners or management but just be warned if travelling with family and children.

  Fotoğraflardan çok daha güzel. Konumu merkezi limandan 7-8 dk yürüyerek ulaştık. Tertemizdi ve bir çok ikramlık vardı. Büyük ve ferah bir ev. Mutfakta neredeyse her şey var saklama kabı bile koymuşlar. Bebeğimiz vardı ona rahtlıkla yemek yapabildik. Diğer yorumlarda müzik sesi çok geliyor yazılmış bir sürü barın ortadında bir eve müzik sesi gelmemesini beklemek biraz garip bence. Kepenkleri kapatınca müzik sesi oldukça azalıyor bizi rahatsız etmedi.

  Mooi, ruim apartement op een uitzonderlijke locatie, met een pak verwelkomingsgeschenken en alle voorzieningen.
  Een kuisdienst halverwege de week die de bedden komt opmaken en de handdoeken komt verversen. Snelle reactie op alle vragen.

  Väldigt välutrustad bostad, i köket fanns allt man kunde behöva. Allting var rent och nytvättat, tex pannlapparna. Salt, peppar, honung mm allt i oöppnade förpackningar. Vi var ett par så vi kunde använda varsitt sovrum som ”walkin closet” och sova i det tredje. För två personer var de ett lyxigt boende.
  
  What could be improved: För 6 personer lite dåligt med förvarings utrymme.
  Och tack vare tidigare recensioner visste vi ju att vi bor i och bredvid flera barer, oss störde det inte vi sov gott.
  Var uppmärksam på att du inte kan köra bil till lägenheten. Ca 800 m att gå med bagage på kullerstenar.

  Ev resimlerde göründüğünden daha güzel ve çok genişti. Konumu Old Town’ın merkezinde, eğlence mekanlarına yürüme mesafesindeydi. Eve geldiğimizde bize özel ikramların olması çok mutlu etti. Evde 4 klima vardı ve çok etkili çalışıyorlardı
  
  What could be improved: Tek banyo olması nedeniyle biraz zorlandık. Belki bir küçük tuvalet olabilirdi. Bulaşık makinesi yoktu, olması iyi olurdu. Etrafta olan gece klüpleri nedeniyle gece oldukça müzik sesi geliyor, bizim gençler için iyiydi, ama rahatsızlık verebilir. Ama bunların hiçbiri çok önemli değil, bir sonraki seferde yine kalmak isteriz

  Mitt i gamla stan med en så mysig restaurang gata som man gick ner till på 30 sekunder. Så bra läge! 20 minuter bort till stranden Elli Beach, vilket vi inte hade något emot. Då fick man se staden samtidigt! Det fanns en liten strand närmre men den tog 10 min att gå till och det var vid båthamnen, inte tänkt att bada där. Huset var såååå fint, mycket större än på bilderna. AC i varje rum som var toppen! Kylde ner jättesnabbt. Vi ÄLSKADE ringklockan! Dock lite synd att det inte gick att öppna uppifrån (där kameran satt, så man kunde se vem som plingade på) Allt som fanns i lägenheten fick man äta, de bjöd på frukt, en flaska vin, och annat gott. Te, vatten osv. Super generöst!
  
  What could be improved: Trevliga värdar men de var sena, vi fick vänta 30 på att få nycklarna. Sedan fanns det bara en toalett för 6 personer. Utöver det var det fantastiskt, hade 100% bokat om ifall vi åker till Rhodos igen. Det ligger en klubb precis intill lägenheten som låter under natten, men är ni själva ute är det inget problem!
