Hotel Description

You know what hit me first about the Amus Hotel & Spa? It’s actually positioned perfectly on Iraklidon Avenue where you get this really nice buffer from the busier parts of Ixia without feeling disconnected from everything. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk to those gorgeous beach clubs along the coast, but when you’re sitting on your balcony in the evening, it’s surprisingly peaceful – none of that constant motorbike buzz you get closer to the main strip.

The whole place has this understated luxury thing going on that honestly works better than some of the flashier resorts nearby. The spa is genuinely impressive (and I’m usually pretty skeptical about hotel spas) – they’ve got this hydrotherapy circuit that uses local sea minerals, which sounds gimmicky but actually feels incredible after a day of exploring Rhodes Town or hiking up to Filerimos. The staff seems to really know their stuff too, not just going through the motions. What I appreciated most was how they handle the details – like, the turndown service includes these little local honey cookies from a bakery in the old town, and the concierge actually gave us insider tips about which tavernas the locals hit up in Kremasti (definitely skip the touristy waterfront places and head inland).

The rooms themselves are spacious with that crisp, Mediterranean aesthetic – lots of white and blue, obviously, but done in a way that feels sophisticated rather than cliché. Fair warning though: if you’re sensitive to morning light, bring an eye mask because those floor-to-ceiling windows are gorgeous but the Greek sun doesn’t mess around. Parking is complimentary and actually adequate, which might not sound exciting but trust me, it matters when you’re dealing with August crowds. The pool area gets busy mid-afternoon when the day-trip crowds from Rhodes Town show up, but early morning and late afternoon it’s this perfect oasis. I’d honestly put this place at the top of my list for Rhodes – it’s got that 8.5 rating for good reason, hitting that sweet spot between luxury and authenticity without the pretentious attitude you sometimes get at five-star properties.

  Large suite with excellent views out to sea and use of the Black Pool which was quiet as available only to guests in suites.
  
  What could be improved: The confusion and disappointment over the “All inclusive “ offer. Booking.com should make it clear on the Amus details exactly what All Inclusive means. There were many restrictions on what drinks were part of the deal, that the dining anywhere other than the main restaurant was additional and the certain All inclusive offers were only available if you had booked for 5 nights or more.

  Great location right by the sea. The room was nice and it had a great sea view. I didn’t explore extensively but overall it was as I expected.
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing not to like, staff was very polite and helpful. The spa was also very nice but very expensive.

  We stayed at the private suites. The staff of the suites were exceptional, kind and caring. The spa was exquisite, and the food was delicious. We got treated so much better than expected. The pools are amazing, and the location is very convenient.

  We stayed at the hotel as a couple with older children. We booked a double suite with a sea view and a spacious 42 sqm room for the kids with a garden view. The rooms were large, spacious, and very clean. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Every request we made was answered with a smile and a positive attitude. Breakfast was very nice. The hotel has several pools and a large area to enjoy. The front desk and dining room staff assisted us with every request and recommendation. It was simply wonderful. We will definitely return to this hotel.

  Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, amazing coffee and the view from the balcony 😍.
  Left luggage all day with no hassle, check out at 12 as standard very good.
  Complimentary wine and fruit was an amazing touch.
  Underpass to the private beach was fantastic as very busy road to cross to it otherwise.
  Felt very safe as a solo female traveller too.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing about the hotel… Roadworks were right at the main road very noisy with balcony door open and slightly when closed.

  Good location, very helpful, friendly and attentive staff. Great pool and beach. Very nice bar. Lovely breakfast with friendly and excellent waiting staff.
  
  What could be improved: The room allocated on arrival was in a corner with a restricted view and lacked privacy as people were able to see right into the room. Our room was changed for us after 2 nights. The new room was smaller. The view was excellent though. There was a sewer smell in the bathroom. We did not bring this to the staff’s notice as we did not want to seen as complaining as we had already changed rooms. I expect that the cleaning staff bring this to the attention of management. These comments are for the purpose of assisting in making some improvements.
