Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first turned off the main road toward Lachania – it’s one of those drives where you start wondering if your GPS is leading you astray. But then Amara Luxury Villas appears, and you immediately get why they tucked it away out here. The place sits perfectly between feeling secluded and actually being accessible, which is harder to pull off than you’d think. What struck me first was how quiet everything was – not the eerie kind of quiet, but that satisfying absence of traffic noise that makes you realize how tense your shoulders have been.

The villas themselves are actually impressive without trying too hard to show off. You know those places that scream “luxury” so loudly it feels fake? This isn’t that. The architecture fits the landscape naturally, and each villa has enough space that you’re not hearing your neighbors’ conversations through thin walls. I mean, the interiors are genuinely well-thought-out too – someone clearly spent time figuring out where you’d actually want to put your suitcase or charge your phone, rather than just making everything look pretty for photos. The kitchens are properly equipped if you want to grab supplies from the little market in Lachania village (about a five-minute drive), and the outdoor spaces feel private enough that you can actually relax without performing vacation for an audience.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff’s approach – they seem to actually know the area rather than just reciting rehearsed recommendations. When I asked about beaches, they didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist spots but mentioned this little cove near Plimmiri that hardly anyone talks about. The woman at reception also gave me specific timing advice about visiting Lindos (go early morning or late afternoon, skip the midday crowds entirely) that saved my whole day trip. And here’s something practical that matters: parking is never an issue, check-in was genuinely smooth, and the WiFi actually works reliably if you need to get things done. The location puts you close enough to explore the southern part of Rhodes without dealing with the chaos around Rhodes Town, but far enough from the package tourism areas that it still feels authentically Greek. Sure, you’ll want a rental car since you’re not walking to restaurants, but that’s kind of the point – you get the peaceful setting without sacrificing access to the island’s best spots.

  we loved the thought of every little detail, from the fridge full of goods to the well equipped villa with all the amenities and necessities.
  The team is very approachable and thoughtful. it all sums to a perfect vacation. We also liked the location, far away from the crowded touristic places, it provided us a lot of peace and quiet.

  The Villa was perfect and catered for all our needs. The Villa was immaculate and very clean, the 3 day service was also very much appreciated and not always provided with villas. The food provided on arrival was a really nice touch.
  
  What could be improved: The only negaive would be that the nearest supermarket was around 7 km away which means you have to have a hire car. however we really enjoyed having a hire car and seeing a bit of the island.

  The villa was absolutely incredible. Extremely modern, spacious with a huge outdoor area. We stayed in one of the one bedroom villas which had its own private pool, hot tub, 4 sun loungers, and 2 separate seating areas away from the sun. The pool itself was an excellent size and great for swimming as well as cooling off throughout the day. The room itself was a good size with a large king bed, sofa, TV and dining table. The kitchenette was a nice bonus too.
  
  What could be improved: The air conditioning was not quite as strong as we would have liked. Even with it on its highest setting we felt it wasn’t cold enough during the hottest times in the afternoon. However, this could be a personal preference as we come from a cold country so are not too used to the intense heat! That said, it did still serve its purpose and help cool the room down.

  The villa has been designed to maximise the outdoor space, which is great when you come from the UK and want to make the most of the sunshine! The multiple outdoor zones provide flexibility and variety, which allowed us to be outside from first thing in the morning until late at night. The indoor area is compact but has everything you need. The clever open plan design and floor to ceiling glass make it feel bigger than it actually is. The home automation was a nice touch, and the professional lighting system really enhanced the design. The host was at the villa on arrival and recommended some lovely restaurants. The welcome gift of food and drink was very generous and much appreciated, allowing us to relax straight away, without having to visit local shops. The hosts make it clear this is an area to relax and enjoy the tranquillity and that is certainly what we did. Would highly recommend.
