Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Rhodes, but these Alykes villas in Lachania – honestly, they’re something else. First thing that hits you when you pull up is how quiet it is compared to the madness around Lindos or Rhodes Town. Lachania village itself is this sleepy little spot that most tourists completely miss, which is exactly why you want to be here. The villas sit right where you can hear the waves but aren’t getting sand blown into your breakfast every morning.

What really got me was the attention to detail – I mean, these aren’t your typical Greek island rentals where half the stuff doesn’t work. The private pools are actually private (shocking, I know), and they’re big enough that you’re not doing laps in a glorified bathtub. The styling is that perfect mix of modern comfort with enough Greek character that you remember where you are. Air conditioning that actually works, which matters more than you think when you’re dealing with those August afternoons. The kitchens are properly equipped too – not just some mini-fridge and a prayer. I actually cooked a few meals because the local tavernas, while charming, aren’t exactly diverse in their offerings.

Here’s what the booking sites won’t tell you: Lachania puts you about fifteen minutes from some of the best beaches on the southern coast. Plimmiri is right there, and it’s this gorgeous stretch that barely anyone knows about. You’ve got Prasonisi too if you’re into windsurfing or just want to see where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean. The drive to anywhere else is actually pretty pleasant – winding through olive groves and those classic whitewashed villages. Parking at the villas is straightforward, which matters because you’ll definitely want a car down here. The staff (well, the property manager really) was refreshingly normal – helpful without being overbearing, knew the area well enough to give actual recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the tourist traps. Check-in was smooth, no drama, keys worked, Wi-Fi didn’t cut out every five minutes. You know, the basics that somehow aren’t always basic. The 9.8 rating makes sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine peace and quiet, a pool that’s yours, and access to the less trampled parts of Rhodes without sacrificing comfort. It’s pricier than cramming into some hotel in Rhodes Town, but honestly? Worth every euro if you want to actually relax instead of fighting crowds for a decent photo.

  The villa is pristine and high spec with everything you need for a lovely stay. It is located moments from a gorgeous beach that was deserted when we were there. Daffy and his family are incredibly kind and generous hosts and were very helpful and attentive throughout our stay.

  This is an amazing place to relax and have a great time with family and friends. The beach is in front of the house, beautiful and almost no people there. Daffy and Meni, his mother in law, are great hosts. Very much caring and lovely people. We hope to be back some day.

  The house is very well maintained with everything you could possible need. The view and the piece and quiet is just what we were looking for. The beach which is just a short walk away is great and the outside area of the house is well thought out. The hosts were very friendly and made sure everything was okay during our stay.

  The villa is stunning, very bright and decorated with a good taste. The location is great, just next to the beach, you can't ask for more!
  Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which makes your life easy. The kitchen is fully equiped and swimmingpool is awesome. I strongly recommend this place, the owner is a lovely guy helping with everything you may need.
