You know what struck me first about Alonia View House? It’s actually tucked away in Asklipiio – not the main Rhodes town everyone flocks to, but this quieter village that feels authentically Greek without trying too hard. I mean, you’re about 20 minutes from the bustling harbor area, but honestly, that distance is a blessing. You get the real Rhodes experience here, where locals still outnumber tourists most days.

The property itself has that comfortable, lived-in feel that some of the flashier 5-star places miss completely. It’s a solid 4-star that doesn’t pretend to be anything more – and that’s refreshing. The rooms are well-maintained (I noticed they’ve clearly invested in good mattresses, which matters more than fancy marble everywhere), and the views… well, the name doesn’t lie. You’re looking out over rolling hills dotted with olive groves, and on clear days you can actually see the coastline. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed home than a sterile hotel. Check-in was smooth – the staff genuinely seemed to care about pointing out good local tavernas rather than just pushing the hotel restaurant.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits in the landscape. Asklipiio has this ancient sanctuary nearby (hence the name), and you’re walking distance from some seriously underrated archaeological sites that most day-trippers never bother with. The village itself has maybe three proper restaurants, but they’re the kind where the owner’s grandmother is still making the dolmades. Parking is never an issue here – try finding a decent spot in Rhodes town during summer, I dare you. The mornings are incredibly peaceful; you’ll hear roosters and church bells instead of scooter engines, at least until about 9 AM when the day tours start rolling through. Evenings get quiet again by sunset, which is perfect if you actually want to sleep. The hotel’s location means you’re getting authentic island life during the day, but you can still drive to Lindos or the beach clubs if you want that scene. It’s sort of the best of both worlds, honestly – convenience without the chaos.

  Der Gastgeber war bei jeder Frage und jedem Problem sehr hilfreich und lösungsorientiert.
  Von diesem Ort aus lässt sich die ganze Insel sehr gut erkunden.
  
  What could be improved: Die Betten waren nicht so bequem wie zu Hause und vielleicht war das auch gut so, damit man früh aufsteht und die Insel erkundet 😀
