You know what really struck me about Al Mare Villas? It’s one of those places where the photos actually undersell the experience – and I say that as someone who’s been burned by overly optimistic hotel marketing more times than I care to count. The property sits right on Kiotari Beach, which honestly feels like Rhodes’ best-kept secret. While everyone’s packed into the beaches near Rhodes Town, you’ve got this gorgeous stretch of coastline that’s way more chill and actually swimmable (the water here stays calmer than the windier northern beaches).

The villas themselves are scattered across this hillside that slopes down toward the sea, and I mean scattered in the best possible way – you’re not staring into your neighbor’s breakfast every morning. Each one feels properly private with these little terraces that catch the morning light perfectly. The staff here actually knows your name by day two, which is refreshing when you’re used to those massive resort complexes where you’re just room 247. Check-in was surprisingly smooth too – they had cold towels and local honey waiting, not just the usual warm welcome drink that tastes like it came from a powder mix.

What really makes this place work is the location on Kiotari Beach itself. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Lindos (which you absolutely have to visit, but honestly gets pretty touristy by noon), and you’re far enough from the main hotel strip that it stays quiet at night. The beach right in front is this perfect mix of organized spots with umbrellas and completely wild stretches where you can walk for ages without seeing anyone. I actually found myself preferring the early morning walks here to the famous Lindos beaches – there’s something about having that coastline to yourself with just the sound of waves and maybe a few fishing boats putting out to sea. Parking’s never an issue, which might sound boring but trust me, after dealing with the chaos in Rhodes Old Town, it matters. The only minor thing I’d mention is that you’ll want a rental car – there’s not much within walking distance besides the beach and a couple of tavernas, but honestly, that’s part of what makes it feel like an actual escape rather than just another vacation.

  My partner and myself came here for 4 nights, we found it to be perfect. The sea views were amazing, the pool was perfect with the heat we had. Private beach was really nice just a few steps down from breakfast, with loungers and umbrellas. Breakfast was delicious with a good size menu, the fresh juices were tasty too. Air conditioning in the villa was great. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Rhodes.

  What could be improved: I know it is almost subtropical zone, it was very very hot. So maybe little bit more invest to innovate A/C in the apartments 🙂 It is little bit noisy !!
