You know what caught me off guard about Afandou Bay Resort Suites? It’s actually tucked right into this perfect stretch of beach that most tourists completely miss because they’re all crowding around Rhodes Town or Lindos. I mean, Afandou Beach is this gorgeous seven-kilometer stretch of mostly pebbles with patches of sand, and somehow this five-star place manages to claim one of the quieter sections without feeling isolated.

The suites themselves are honestly impressive – I’m talking proper space here, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture. They’ve got this modern Greek island vibe going on, all clean lines and blues, but without feeling sterile. What I really appreciated was the kitchenette situation because, let’s be real, eating out every meal in Greece adds up fast (even though the food is incredible). The balconies… well, if you get one facing the sea, you’re golden. The mountain-view ones are nice too, but come on, you’re here for the Aegean. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the property, which isn’t always a given in these beachfront spots – learned that the hard way at other places.

Here’s something the booking sites don’t tell you: the hotel sits right where the beach starts getting less crowded as you head toward the golf course. You can walk about ten minutes toward Kolymbia if you want more tavernas, or head the other direction toward the main Afandou area where there’s this little cluster of family-run places that locals actually frequent. The resort’s pools are solid – there’s a main one that gets busy around midday and a smaller adults-only section that’s perfect for afternoon reading. Honestly, the service feels more attentive than rushed, probably because they’re not trying to manage 500 rooms like some of those massive resort complexes. Check-in was smooth, parking is free (huge plus if you rent a car, which you should), and the breakfast spread is pretty generous without being overwhelming. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not flawless, but it gets the important stuff right. I noticed the housekeeping could be hit or miss depending on the day, and the beach bar prices are what you’d expect at a five-star place, but the location and space really deliver on what you’re paying for.

  Very accommodating for late-check-out, highly appreciated! Close to beach and good restaurants. Off the beaten track (rental car needed).

  The staff was really really friendly and eager to help us in order to make our stay enjoyable (special thanks to Mary in the reception ❤️)
  The room was really comfortable and very clean!
  The pool and pool bar were really nice and clean.
  The breakfast and dinner were also amazing with many different choices that were changing every day. Also, every morning you could order a custom omelette, special thanks to the lady making the best omelettes! ❤️
  
  What could be improved: There were some minor amenities that were missing, like slippers, or were really old like the hair dryer. Also the room setup with the furniture could be better in order to also have a bigger TV set mounted on the wall, instead of having a smaller one placed on top of a drawer.

  Beautiful week at this lovely Afandou Bay Resort ! We have got new experience of a stay in complexly managed hotel. Everything was organized calculatedly for contentment and comfort of the visitors. Above of that positives is Mrs. Mary ! We believe She is the pillar of the home feeling all of us. Always powerfull to help to improve to inform or to suggest …. etc. All as accommodation (+ excellent mattress), feeding, trips, enjoying beach as well as pool …. etc were easy accessible.

  Rooms were clean and comfortable, had all of the essentials. The buffet offered interesting and enjoyable foods. Loved the staff – very friendly and helpful.

  What could be improved: Booked half board, quality and choice of food was great, only issue was the temperature of the hot buffet, it was more luke warm which was a little off putting.

  We arrived and were welcomed with a drink at the bar. Mary at the reception desk upgraded us to nice suites. The suite was comfortable and clean. The bedroom was nicely sized and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom shower had excellent water pressure. The bathroom door was semi transparent which freaked the kids out a little when the light was on! The pool was perfect and cool and the children enjoyed it tremendously. The quiet beach is literally across the road which was also a huge advantage.
  
  The overall location was perfect for our needs. We had a car but there are bus stops nearby. The location is 30 mins from Rhodes town, Lindos and the airport.
  
  What could be improved: We were there with our 10 and 8 year old children. The resort is family friendly but surprisingly there was no lifeguard on duty at the pool. Our kids can swim but this was unexpected. Furthermore, after a long day of touring we'd have been happy to let the kids watch TV for a while, while we rested. The only English language channels were CNN and BBC News, and there were no children's channels at all.

  Service , restaurants,pool bar and staff, swimming pools,comfort mattress and sofa,big room.
  
  What could be improved: Poor access for tv programs only German station’s, should be more English language stations, and more music program’s, air conditioning slow working needs long time to cooling off all apartments , towels and sheets should be at least twice a week exchange, this is 5star hotel! And 2 key cards should be two nod only one.
