Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Aethrion Villas & Suites in Gennadi – I mean, it’s pretty far down on Rhodes’ southeast coast, and you know how some of these smaller resort towns can be hit or miss. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. The property sits back from the main coastal road (which, let’s be real, isn’t saying much since Gennadi is pretty quiet anyway), and there’s this immediate sense of calm when you walk through the entrance. The staff at check-in were genuinely friendly – not that rehearsed hotel script you get sometimes – and they actually knew the area well enough to give me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps.

What really won me over was how they’ve managed to feel both polished and relaxed at the same time. The suites are spacious – I had one with a partial sea view that caught these amazing sunrises – and everything felt thoughtfully designed without being stuffy. The kitchenette was actually functional (rare for hotel “kitchenettes”), which came in handy since the local market in Gennadi village has incredible fresh produce and you can grab supplies without driving all the way to Lindos. Speaking of which, you’re about 20 minutes from Lindos here, close enough for day trips but far enough to avoid the cruise ship crowds. The pool area gets busy mid-afternoon when families are back from the beach, but mornings and evenings it’s perfectly peaceful. And here’s something I appreciated – the beach is literally a two-minute walk, and while it’s not the most dramatic coastline on Rhodes, it’s clean, uncrowded, and the water stays shallow for quite a way out, which is great if you’re traveling with kids or just want to float around with a book.

The whole Gennadi area feels authentically Greek in a way that some of the busier resort towns have lost, you know? There are still working farms around, locals who wave when you walk by, and that great taverna – Kostas, I think it was called – where the owner’s mother still makes the dolmades. Aethrion fits into this vibe perfectly; it’s upscale enough that you feel pampered (the housekeeping is excellent, breakfast has local honey and really good coffee), but it doesn’t feel like some isolated resort bubble. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs constant entertainment or nightlife, this probably isn’t your spot – Gennadi shuts down pretty early, and the hotel itself is more about relaxation than activities. But honestly, that’s exactly why I’d go back. Sometimes you find a place that just gets the balance right, and this is one of those places.

  Really nice, modern buildings with all necessary amenities in a quiet part of Rhodes. Probably one of the best beaches I’ve been to and I’ve been to 6 continents 🙂

  Very beautiful villa, the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. We had a rental car and it took us about an hour to reach the Old Town, and about 30 minutes to get to Lindos.
  I would recommend it to anyone — I think the pictures speak for themselves. Top!

  We spent three nights at Aetherion Villas on Rhodes and were absolutely thrilled! The service was exceptional, with the kitchen team being incredibly attentive and accommodating. They always greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to meet our special requests. The food at the on-site restaurant was delicious and clearly prepared with love.
  
  We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, who runs the place with great care, and the receptionist, who ensured we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The villas themselves were spotless, very spacious, and extremely comfortable. With breathtaking sea views, a private pool, and plenty of privacy, our stay was nothing short of perfect. It was wonderfully quiet at night, and we slept very good.
  
  A huge thank you to the entire team for this unforgettable experience – we will definitely be back!

  The Villa and pool area was extremely beautiful. 2min walk to the private beach that has comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. The breakfast was delivered to the villa every day and had everything and more that you could want. The conversation with the host was supereasy and fast. We had an amazing time there!

  Location of the property is easy to find. Very calm and serene area which we love. Gennadi town is about 5 mins drive away and there is a supermarket, bakery and a number of restaurants and cafes. Super convenient!
  
  The villa is really comfortable and offers a lot of privacy. A shout-out to Kiki at Reception who is very helpful and friendly. She was always available to assist us and provided us with good recommendations.
  
  Lindos is around 30 mins drive from the property. Rhodes town is just over an hour drive away but it was really hard to find a parking space.
  
  Overall, we had a really pleasant experience and would definitely come back and stay in the same property again!
  
  What could be improved: Oven was broken. Not a big deal as we ate out most of the time.

  What could be improved: There is no way how to clean dishes, there is a kitchen with no sink, we also missed something to dry our wet clothes, there are also some things in aparments to finish – like little holes in walls. Also fixing generator to have stable electricity would be nice – we were few times awaken by safety light in our room , as generator switched off in the middle of the night and we couldnt switch the light off

  What could be improved: Access to the beach a bit of a difficult walk even though it’s only 200 meters. So far, no service at the beach. But apparently they are working on this.
