You know what really struck me about the Acandia Hotel? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street called Iron Politechniou, which honestly I’d never heard of before visiting Rhodes Town – but that’s actually perfect because you’re literally a three-minute walk from all the medieval old town craziness without dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window. I mean, you can still hear the occasional late-night revelry drifting over from the main squares, but it’s more like a distant hum than anything disruptive.

The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on – it’s not trying too hard to scream “Greek island hotel” with over-the-top blue and white everything. Instead, there’s this cool blend of modern comfort with subtle nods to the local architecture. The lobby actually smells faintly of jasmine (I think they’ve got some growing in the little courtyard area), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that overly rehearsed welcome speech some places torture you with. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. When I asked about good spots for breakfast away from the tourist traps, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he actually drew little notes about which bakeries open early and which streets to take to avoid the cruise ship crowds.

The rooms are well, exactly what you’d hope for from a solid 4-star place without any unpleasant surprises. Good air conditioning (crucial during those sweltering July afternoons), decent Wi-Fi, and the beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not too firm. I stayed on the third floor and could catch glimpses of the harbor between buildings, though honestly the real charm is just being able to step outside and immediately dive into exploring the cobblestone maze of the old town. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’ve got a rental car – there’s not much right at the hotel, but there are a few public lots within reasonable walking distance. The whole area gets pretty quiet after the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships around 4 PM, which is when Rhodes Town really starts to feel magical rather than overwhelming. It’s one of those places where the location just works – close enough to everything you came to see, but positioned so you can actually retreat and recharge when you need to.

  Location excellent, short walk to both beach and old town. 15 minute walk to port to catch ferry’s.
  Excellent breakfast, very good Choice, hot and cold buffet.

  The hotel is centrally located and close to the beach. The rooms are clean and renovated, and staff are welcoming. They provide towels for the pool and beach, and an iron for request.
  
  What could be improved: Standard room was quite small, there was not enough space for our luggage and clothes. I wouldn’t recommend staying in this room more than 2 nights.
  Breakfast was ok, offering many different dishes, including fruit. However, the coffee provided from machines was awful and caffe latte was sweet. The hotel should either invest in the machines which make coffee from grains and not from substances, or provide coffee prepared by a barista.

  The whole staff took really good care of us, almost like a 5-star hotel! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Especially the manager Sabrina went above and beyond!
  The room was spacious and with all the needed amenities. The bed was very comfortable.
  Hotel super close to the beach and other services (mini market, car rental…) and good restaurants around the area within a very short walk.
