You know what surprised me most about this place on Kleithenou Street? It actually feels like staying in someone’s Rhodes home – not in that awkward “I’m sleeping in a stranger’s bed” way, but more like your well-traveled Greek aunt decided to let you crash at her perfectly appointed townhouse in the heart of Old Town.

The location is honestly incredible, and I mean that without the usual travel blog hyperbole. You’re literally within the medieval walls, so when you step outside in the morning for coffee, you’re walking on stones that have been there for centuries. The narrow street itself is pretty quiet – it’s not one of those main drags where tour groups parade past at 7 AM – but you’re maybe a three-minute walk from Sokratous Street where all the action happens. I loved being able to duck back home when the midday crowds got overwhelming, then venture out again for evening drinks when the light hits those ancient walls just right. The house itself spreads out more than you’d expect from the street view, with these generous bedrooms that actually fit your luggage without playing furniture Tetris. The kitchen is properly equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and hot plate situation – which came in handy when we grabbed fresh seafood from the morning market near Mandraki Harbor. There’s something satisfying about cooking dinner while listening to the evening sounds of Old Town drifting through the windows: distant bouzouki music, conversations in half a dozen languages, the clip-clop of late horse carriages heading back to their stables.

I’ll be honest, the summer months can get pretty warm upstairs (stone buildings hold heat, go figure), but the thick walls keep it cooler than you’d think, and there’s decent air conditioning when you need it. What really sold me on the place was how it strikes this perfect balance – you’re staying somewhere with genuine character and history, but you’re not roughing it or dealing with quirky plumbing that “adds charm.” The 8.6 rating makes sense; it’s the kind of place where small thoughtful touches show someone actually cares about the guest experience rather than just maximizing bookings. Plus, and this matters more than people realize, you can actually get a taxi to pick you up here without spending twenty minutes on the phone trying to explain which tiny alley you’re on. It’s accessible but tucked away, if that makes sense.

    Excellent location, beautiful views from the rooftop. Fully equipped kitchen.

    What could be improved: Sheets and pillows were not completely clean (hairs) so we had to wash them on arrival. Silverware and cups also not all clean so had to wash. Slightly musty smell downstairs.

    Excellent location in the old town. It is very close to St John Gate, and it is easy to park your car around this gate. It has a lovely terrace with a big table, barbeque and refrigerator—air conditioning in each bedroom upstairs.

    What could be improved: It was not pleasant that a stranger broke into the house unannounced every day to check the house- she wasn't cleaning the house either; she was just checking the house. The room downstairs didn't have air conditioning, and the fan didn't work either. The landlord had brought another fan, but it was too old and weak. The dishwasher at the terrace didn't work; it was so hard to carry the dishes after having dinner on the terrace. Wifi only works on the terrace; the connection is too weak downstairs.

    Rymlig lägenhet som var bra placerad i gamla stan. Omtänksamma värdar. Väl utrustad. Snabba att uppmärksamma om man bad om något.

    What could be improved: Såhär i början av säsongen kunde vi önskat ett thermolock på jacuzzin för vattnet som värmdes sv solen mitt på dagen svalnade fort. Trappan till takterassen var en utmaning. Vi är medelålders och tyckte den var trång och brant så för de som är äldre eller mer orörliga än vi blir den svår att bemästra.

    What could be improved: При бронировании указали, что приедем с 14 до 15, хозяин это подтвердил. Подошли к дому в начале 3-го – дом закрыт, ни кто не отвечает, никакой информации как в него попасть нет. Постучали в дом, покрутились вокруг, дверь не открывают, никого нет. Начали звонить по указанному в бронировании номеру владельца, не отвечает. Приблизительно через 20-30 минут ожидания хозяин написал сообщение в Букинге где взять ключи.
    Когда приезжаешь с дороги – сидеть на чемоданах и ждать, когда хозяин скажет как попасть в дом, явно не то, чего хотелось бы.
    Зашли в дом, в нём было полно открытых продуктов и вещей. Вроде бы оставить следующим гостям какие-то вещи и нормально, но если это наполовину съеденные мюсли или открытые бритвы – как-то не очень приятно выходит.
    Бронировали дом с ванной на крыше. Поднялись, вода в ванной грязная… Тоже явно не то, чего ты ожидаешь бронируя дом с ванной. Если хозяин не знает, то подскажу ему, что можно накрывать эту ванну, чтобы в неё не падали мусор и пыль.
    В целом – дом нормальный. Но ожидание заселения, непонятные вещи от предыдущих гостей и грязная вода испортили впечатление.
    А, ну да, как и пишут все – лестница на крышу это целое испытание) Если пьёшь с друзьями на крыше ночевать лучше оставаться там же)
