Honestly, when I first heard the name “50 Shades of Blue,” I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical – but you know what, it actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. This place sits in the Vlicha area near Lindos, and I mean literally every shade of blue you can imagine is right there in front of you. The Aegean shifts from deep navy in the morning to that impossible turquoise by afternoon, and the hotel’s design seems to capture all of it.

The location is sort of tucked away from the main Lindos crowds, which honestly works in your favor. You’re close enough to walk to the ancient acropolis when you feel like dealing with the tourist buses, but far enough that you won’t hear them rumbling past your window at 7 AM. The staff actually knows the area – like, really knows it. They’ll tell you which tavernas the locals hit up (there’s this tiny place about ten minutes down the coastal road that doesn’t even have a proper sign), and they’re spot-on about timing your acropolis visit to avoid the worst crowds. I went around 4 PM on their recommendation and had the place almost to myself.

The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing groundbreaking, but the balconies make up for any lack of fancy amenities. I spent way too much time just sitting out there with my morning coffee, watching the fishing boats head out. The air conditioning works well, which matters more than you’d think in July and August. Parking was surprisingly easy, even during peak season, though the driveway is a bit narrow if you’re not comfortable with tight spaces. Check-in was smooth, no drama there. The pool area gets busy around midday, but early morning and late afternoon it’s pretty peaceful. You can actually hear the waves from some of the rooms – not overwhelming, just that constant gentle sound that helps you sleep.

What really struck me was how the whole place feels authentic rather than resort-esque. The breakfast includes local honey and olives that taste like they came from someone’s backyard (they probably did), and the housekeeping staff genuinely seems to care about details. My bathroom towels were folded into these elaborate shapes that definitely took extra effort. The WiFi works throughout the property, which isn’t always a given in this part of Rhodes. There’s this little outdoor seating area that most people miss – tucked behind the main building – where you can watch the sunset without any crowds. The hotel’s position on the coastline means you get these incredible light shows in the evening, all those blues shifting to gold and pink.

Look, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but there’s something really satisfying about a hotel that does the basics exceptionally well while giving you genuine access to what makes this part of Greece special. The 8.8 rating feels about right – it’s the kind of place where small thoughtful touches add up to something memorable. If you’re looking for a true taste of Rhodes without the package tour atmosphere, this spot delivers.

  What could be improved: the steps up to the main door were very dangerous and the pool is not good for young non swimmers ( a bit deep in shallow end)not many of the local taxis knew the location of the property.

  The owner was available fromwhen we arrived, we had a couple of issues with water power but they were sorted in a friendly and efficient manner

  Me and my friends stayed in this villa for a week and we had the best time ever. Although the location is near the beach you need to walk for about 15 minutes, but on our way back we took a taxi because of the hill, it is not an easy walk. But this didn’t bother us at all, because this villa truly has everything you need. The owner was very responsive. If we had problems with the water he took care of it almost immediately. He also helped us with other things and questions we had about the island in general. When we arrived, there was food and drinks in the fridge which does not happen very often. The owner also arranged a transportation from the airport to the villa. Overall we had a really great experience and really enjoyed our vacation.

  Great pool. Great BBQ area. Great outdoor dining area. Great communication by owner.
  
  What could be improved: Under equipped kitchen ( lack of utensils) no microwave, Bed mattresses too hard, lots of steps to gain entry, refuse bin to far away from Property. Parking area poor. No cleaning provided during the weeks stay. Pool cleaning wasn’t daily as promised. No welcome booklet to describe house fuse box, emergency procedures etc , local information such as restaurants, beaches etc would have been handy. A washing machine translation from Greek to other languages would have been a good thing to have.

  אהבנו מאוד את הפרטיות. בעל הוילה היה מקסים דאג להכל. היתה שריפה באי והוא דאג לעדכן ולהרגיע. הבריכה נקיה וטובה.

  Super – přijeli jsme v noci a měli jsme v lednici nakoupené základní potraviny + sekt + víno + meloun – velmi milé překvapení, co nám ušetřilo hodně starostí
  
  What could be improved: Zlobila voda (v oblasti je málo vody, tak ji systematicky vypínají) a elektrika(trouba), ale dalo se s tím žít, když byla možnost venkovního grilu
