Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this villa? I was expecting another cramped old town rental, but walking into this place on Agiou Fanouriou feels like discovering someone’s actual home – if that someone happens to have impeccable taste and knows how to blend traditional Greek architecture with stuff that actually works for modern travelers.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of Rhodes’ old town without dealing with the cruise ship crowds every single morning. Agiou Fanouriou runs parallel to some of the main tourist drags, but it’s just tucked away enough that you can actually sleep past 7 AM (trust me on this – I’ve stayed on Socratous Street before and, well, let’s just say the souvenir shops start their day early). You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Palace of the Grand Master, and there’s this little bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM if you’re the type who needs proper coffee before exploring. The medieval walls are right there too, which means evening walks along the fortifications become this sort of magical routine you’ll find yourself doing every night.
What really sets this villa apart – and I mean this – is how it handles space. Most old town accommodations feel like they’re playing Tetris with furniture, but whoever designed this place actually understood that people travel with luggage and like to spread out a bit. The bedrooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Greece (and I’ve stayed in a lot of Greek hotels). The kitchen is actually functional too, not just decorative – full-size fridge, proper stovetop, enough counter space to prepare a real meal if you get tired of tavernas. There’s even decent water pressure in the showers, which… if you’ve traveled around the Greek islands much, you’ll appreciate why I’m mentioning this.
The stone walls keep everything surprisingly cool even during those brutal July afternoons, though you’ll definitely want to open the windows at night to get that cross-breeze going. Parking can be a bit of an adventure – I mean, it’s the old town, so you’re not pulling up to a front door – but there’s a public lot about a five-minute walk away that’s not too expensive by Rhodes standards. Check-in was smooth, the host actually showed up on time (small miracle), and they left some local wine and olives, which was a nice touch that didn’t feel forced or touristy. The whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like staying at a friend’s place who happens to live somewhere incredible and knows how to take care of people properly.

We stayed for 5 nights in April…a great time to be in Rhodes town as everything is open and weather is good while one still avoids peak season crowds.
The apartment is in an exceptional location inside old town but in a quiet spot. You can walk everywhere quite easily. Anywhere in old town will require a bit of bag carrying to get in; as things go this option is quite good.
The welcome was wonderful. Everything was well explained in advance. Communications, getting in and leaving was easy.
The garden is really a wonderful feature. The kids loved having this private outdoor space and it really makes a holiday in a sunny spot like Rhodes.
What could be improved: We loved it all. Though the street that the apartment is found is quiet by old town standards, you hear conversations of those passing and the motorbike engines every so often.Sandra from United Kingdom – 25 September 2024 (9/10)
The villa and garden were lovely , all that was expected , it was very comfortable
